While an embarrassment to pop culture is extreme, the main reason behind WB's struggles with the DCEU stem from lack of planning, reactionary film-making and hubris.
It is true that WB has completely bungled the DC Cinematic Universe, but studio interference doesn't absolve blame for Zack Snyder. Sure, the extended cut of Batman V. Superman was more coherent, it was still a dreary, boring three hours. Nowhere near the quality necessary for the film to establish positive momentum for DCEU. There are a plethora of problems with the DCEU and Zack Synder is still one of them.
I disagree that it would solve the problem. For starters, if a Suicide Squad film needs to run at nearly 3 hours just for the story to make sense....then there's too much going on in the movie itself.
A major movie studio concerned that a director would be unable to handle the pressures of a big budget summer blockbuster and not satisfied at the tonal direction of the film decided to insert new scenes, new cuts to the film only to make the movie even worse.
I feel as though I read a story similar to this last year...
Barbara Gordon would be the easiest to translate to the big screen. If Cassandra Cain were to be in live action, her character would need to be different from the 'martial-arts-powerhouse-who-can-beat-anything-but-is-a-mute' because I don't feel as though those characteristics would work well on film.
Americans are stupid. So they will blindly follow RT just like they following Trump.
GG America. It was real fun to see you die from inside.
As an American, I don't know of any person in my life that blindly follows RT (well...Russia Today yes, Rotten Tomatoes no..). Usually the types that are that gullible are the types that don't even know Rotten Tomatoes exist.
So....your proof that the critics (who aren't exactly a centralized group) are biased against DC is that you thought Thor 2 was worse than MOS and BVS....but they didn't. That's some ironclad thinking right there...
It's things like this that give DC fans a bad name.
Yes they did. While I highly doubt WB is the only company to do something like this, I do think it's important to point out that WB was caught paying off critics when people accuse Disney of paying off critics to spite WB.
Yeah...I'm not going to paint modern entertainment conglomerates with that heroic of a brush.
lmao..That would be foolish if you take it literally..Its just an analogy..Like don't throw stones if you live in a glass house.
I got the analogy though I feel as though it is a tired one that is frequently doled out by athletes, filmmakers, musicians etc. in an attempt to delegitimatize critiques.
The legitimacy of a critic most likely will always be debated..Just the way it is.
True, but it's usually a very immature way of dealing with criticism, especially when it's thrown at a large group of people from a variety of backgrounds.
Yeah...I'm not going to paint modern entertainment conglomerates with that heroic of a brush.
