List items

  • 5/5. This issue was amazing, definitely going to pick more of this up. Sets the scene and keeps it interesting even if I don't know who these guys are, this issue got me into WD, will see how it continues on from this point. Coming in from having watched all the episodes of WD season 1 and almost all of season 2 (TV Series). Excellent writing. Great art (coming from someone who used to hate black & white comics (!))

  • 4.5/5. This was part two of "Devil in the Sand" but it worked just fine as a jump-on point. I'm on board.

  • Unread

  • Fourth purchase, first read. 2.5/5.

Some interesting lines (Machine man is looking out for Nr 1, etc.), was okay, nothing fantastic - some intersting idea with cloned humans. Good last panel (got interested) 2.5-3/5

  • Cover B. 3/5. lots of TNA, some cool art, feel like it's setting up a lot of stuff, will see if it pans out into something good beyond this point. Writing sometimes feels like it's from someone saying "Hey look, I can make a comic book!"

  • 4.5/5. The writing in this one was SO much better than issue #1. Pretty awesome, definitely on board. Fight scene was a bit odd (who was the red-bikini girl? was there more than one acid-girl? lights out? Wha?) But yeah, muuuch better than the first one. Loses half a star for being inconsistent in the fight-scene (feels like they put some panels in there that shouldn't be in there, like the light's out one, who's she light's-outin?)

  • 4/5. Continues to be great, goes into the psyche of some characters and relationships. Definitely still interesting.

  • 4.5/5. Some heir to the throne finds a statue of Conan. This issue sets some stuff up in a fairy-tale-esque way. A nice starter, some interesting panel work.

  • 3.5/5. Not really liking the art so much. I really liked the "Then he told me" panels though. It works as a jump on, but seems deliberately paced towards the commercial pages, having some event preceding it and kind of using it to break it up so they become mini cliffhangers... An okay read.

  • 4.5/5. I teared twice, I had some laughs. This is just a great, great issue (it hit home). So much stuff happens. The only thing is that I don't like paper... I like my pages glossy. But man if this wasn't worth it...

  • 3/5. I feel this issue tries to explain a lot about what's going on. Makes me wonder if that's really what readers are looking for if you know the series. It worked okay as a jump-on, but there's just a bunch of characters you don't really have a connection to. Some stuff seems decently explained (apparently these two angeldemon things create dreamworlds in the other's mind or something?). I'd probably need a couple of issues to know if I'm on board or not. Art was decently cool.

  • 3.5/5. An interesting read. I think I'm gonna pull 18 as well. This seems like pretty early on in the story, and the girl doesn't really know how this thing works. Hard to place this... Darkness crossover? There's an ad for Final Fantasy VII in it. Some nice orientation differences, which is fun . Lots of full page art, storyline is kind of all over the place, like "short" stories from different places, but it doesn't feel overwhelming. The art can be a bit stiff sometimes and the artist sure likes the torn clothes look, but overall it's pretty nice. Pages are sort of half-way between paper and glossy, so that's nice too. I also don't really feel like giving it a score, really. I don't feel like picking up older issues, but I'll be picking up nr. 18!

  • 2.5/5. Yeah, I dunno. It's average. It felt a little tweeny, if that makes any sense? It's almost like a little one-shot, ghost rider out for revenge.. The art was a bit hard to follow at times. I don't think I need more of this. I've had my fill of ghost ridin' for now. There were some cool panels in there though.

  • 4.5/5. I could just as easily give it a 5/5, really doesn't matter. Perhaps some more plot would have been nice, but for what it is, it's nice. But let's put that aside for a second. Holy rainbowcookies is the coloring nice in this one? Holy chai. Seriously, super colorful, panels are easy to view and take in. I had to flip through some of it again after I was done. And it's done on PAPER instead of glossy... Maybe I need to rethink my priorities, because the colors are just so lush. I can keep going, but honestly, it all depends on if Joe Rosas (and possibly Suart Immonen (actually, Richard and Wes do a nice job with the lettering, too but...) yeah. Sutart and Joe go great together. MY POINT IS, if the following issue has the same team, I'm picking it up. Simple as that.

  • 2,5/5. Heard a lot of good about this series. Granted, I'm jumping in on part 2 of a 4 part storyline, but it's not hard to follow what's going on. Lot's of talking animals, snow white, little red riding hood, random apperance by shere-kahn and the panther from jungle book. Seems like there's some oppression politics going on that's gonna escalate into a war of some sort, since both sides think they're right. I don't think I need to get anymore of these. I can atleast agree that the art was pretty nice in some cases. Panels are very structured. I also noticed the avarage score wasn't so high for this one to begin with. But I'll put it around 2.5 closer to 3 when taking all of these things into account. Also, the entire premise is probably going to confuse people, because it kinda is "already established" when you jump in at this point. Fable characters are for some reason real, and animals talk. About politics. (based on george orwells stuff? *shrug*) anyway, you kinda just have to accept that this is how it is, and you've probably missed out on the explanation of why it is this way, and this issue isn't gonna tell you why.

  • Was a nice read. Also, I had no idea Peter Parker was in the IB.
