@onyxwave: I agree with the krypto thing for sure. I'm a new reader so this reboot is pretty much establishing what I consider to be the origins of the characters, aside from my understanding from TV shows as a kid. Are their adjustments really that far off?

@BlackArmor: That could be interesting. But I hear these "events" have really lost their luster.

@BlackArmor: I'm considering it, but I know (or at least speculate) that I wont get to see my favorite iconic villains in that series.

So.... I decided with my research that I am going to pick up the start of the Spider-Island books AND I want to read the clone saga.

Now I need your help with the last part! I need to know what issues the clone saga involves, because when I searched up the saga im getting a whole bunch of issues from different spider-man series. For example from web of spider-man, spectacular spider-man and so on. Can someone please explain this to me? (keeping in mine I'm new to this sort of thing)

Does anyone have any opinions on the Ultimate Spider-Man series? The first volume not the new one.

@MetropolisKid41: Hey! Thanks for giving my post a read! I am currently looking up the issues you mentioned! Do you think I will be happy with the current state of Spider-Man with the amazing Spider-Man title? I was thinking about getting Avenging Spidey, seemed like a pretty cool idea!

Spider-Man, my favorite superhero!

I am not "new" to spider-man, but only this year have I been collecting and reading comics because of the new 52 that DC has put out.

I have read the Gwen Stacy arc of the amazing spider-man and really enjoyed it, but other then that my perceptions of Spider-Man and the other characters involved come from

the 90s animated TV show and the live action movies.

If I was to start reading amazing Spider-Man I feel as if I would be terribly lost with the huge back-story, and possibly disappointed with an aged Peter/Spider-Man (correct me if I'm wrong).

So I remembered way back when the first Spider-Man movie came out they came out with the "Ultimate Universe" series. This seems like something I would enjoy as it is more relate-able to me being slightly younger then Peter around the time when the book came out. HOWEVER! I am really hating some of the villain re-designs, especially the Green Goblin. I mean seriously, I would be surprised if Spider-Man fans at that time didn't outrage! I really enjoy the classic Green Goblin. Is this series worth reading? Will it give me some familiar stories with just some updates?

Now I know the Ultimate series I am talknig about ended and they started the new Spider-Man with the black/red costume, but that doesn't really interest me, I want the Spider-Man or at least something close to what I know.

SO I would greatly appreciate it if you could recommend a tittle and possibly some easy entry issues, or perhaps there are collected volumes I can pick up that would make reading easier.

What Spider-Man series is best suited for me to read?

We need to hear the laugh to be sure. You would think they have Mark Hamil saying enough words now that they could play the part without him hahah.
