Wolverine's original origin was going to be one of two things.  At first he was going to be a kid with Freddie Krueger type gloves who wanted to fight crime, and then (what they ran with for the first few years) he wasn't a mutant human being, but a mutant wolverine.  That's why up to the early 80's you had occasional references to him being a different sort of mutant.  They retconned it a long time ago and just decided to make him a regular mutant with a healing factor & claws.

Ah... I gained live edit after I submitted that entry.  So it looks like that's the problem :(

Do you know if there is any way to notify someone to reject it?

I just went to delete an entry in my Pending Subs (for Wolverine from 2 days ago).  The page refreshes & I get a message to say it's been deleted... but I can still see it in the list saying "Pending".

I've refreshed and tried to delete it again & again... but it's still there.

Is this an extremely old bug?  Is it really deleted?  Or does it still have to be moderated like a normal pending sub?

I didn't mean any offence to any Batman fans... but he's not the sort of character that people are usually embarrassed to admit liking :)

If it's as camp as the Adam West Batman then I guess it counts!
I'm also a huge Power Pack fan... yes, I'm sad!!  But it's fun :)

hehe There's nothing cheesy about a man who dresses up as a bat to fight gang bosses and crazy clowns..oh wait..."
Ha ha!!  Nice try, but he's one of Warner's biggest earners of 2008... he's too cool for this list. Try again :)

This is a bit of silly fun.  There have been so many love or hate threads, but usually they're full of the usual cool & popular characters.  This is for those characters you're too embarrassed to admit you love!  This is no place for Batman or Spider-Man.  Forget about the seductive & sexy like Psylocke or Emma Forst.  Nevermind the cool Wolverines or Gambits...

They can have rubbish powers, lame outfits, or dorky codenames.  The cheesier the better... they're more fun!!

So who are your favourite cheesy characters?

To get the ball rolling... Boom Boom, Speedball and Impulse

Is it wrong that the Mighty Mouse & Ant covers make me laugh?  And what is MacFarlane's obsession with the legs akimbo pose?

No worries, it's your opinion and I'm cool with it.

Spawn is an abomination, who bastardises comics.
And films!  No wait... I can't really say that, but I can't bear to sit through the films to find out ;)
To be fair, it wasn't just Morrison's run that I didn't like.  X-Treme X-Men felt like it had the possibility to  be as enjoyable as the X-Men of old... but didn't have the charm of the older stories.  It also felt disjointed from the rest of the X-Men.  Like some bizarre sort of divorce settlement where favoured characters were split between Morrison and Claremont.  And I'm still not crazy about the non-inked artwork.  But that's a purely aesthetic complaint.

Astonishing was amazing, it has a totally different feel than New X-Men, and takes place right after, the Whedon run that is.
Astonishing is something I've missed completely.  I didn't even know it existed till a few weeks ago.  So if that's Whedon's title, is that where Colossus was resurrected?

Personally I'm looking at the possibility of getting a few trades, instead of buying the back issues.  They all seem to be grouped in story arcs, but like at the start of this topic, I never really knew where to start.  Forbidden Planet had a copy of Messiah Complex and the art looked nice, and flicking through at random pages the script seemed okay.  But at £20, I thought I'd find a cheaper copy online ;)
