Looking Back at it Now: WANTED

Let me start off by saying that I have only read excerpts of the comic this film is loosely based on. As a matter of fact I did not realize the movie was based on a comic since six months after its release. When I first saw Wanted in the theater, I freaking loved it. It was gloriously stupid and so much fun. Now that it has been years and I watched the film again recently and have learned about the comic's existence, has my opinion of the film changed?

Since I am still in the camp who watched this movie without having read the comment, my opinion will be reflective on that prespective. However I will say this, If you watched this movie as a fan of the comic, looking for a faithful adaptation, then yes it is terrible. Despite a few noticeable note for note scenes, the movie is nothing like the comic. Now is it a terrible movie from an action movie angle? No... no it is not.

Granted I do have a few complaints about Wanted has that I did not have before. The biggest flaw is that the movie makes the mistake of trying to take itself seriously by adding the inclusion of this weird, unnecessary "loom of fate" concept. Not only does it feel unnecessary but also does not make any sense. Is the loom magical? How does it know if the people it names are going to cause trouble if he/she is not killed? It does not add up and can be a distraction to the audience. Also in that scene where Wesley sees his wanted poster in the newspaper, I found it odd that no person at work or even his cheating best friend would walk up to him and mention it to him. Other that I still really enjoy the film for its cool action scenes ( the car chase, train scene, Mr X jumping across the roof top), the performances of the cast and the attitude of the movie.

In Conclusion, Wanted is not a good comic book adaptation due to it straying to far from the source material, but as an action movie, it is actually still pretty cool.

Off my Mind: Simple Reason why Power Girl's new costume can be a

I genuinely like Power Girl, but I have to admit that she is mostly only known by a large majority for her 10,000 ton boobs. For those who are fans and read about PG ( mostly her solo book in volume 2) knows that she has a fun, confident personality and is a strong woman who just happens to have big boobs. Because the costume no longer shows her breasts-which are no longer cartoony big by the way- this play a big part( as long as she is written well) in readers taken her more seriously instead of a punchline ( though her new costume is still disappointing.)

One Million Moms vs X-men : Gay edition

In the aftermath of the news of two gay marvel characters being set to wed, a band of middle-age desperate housewives, One Million Moms, are campaging to urge marvel to stop this disgrace. “Children desire to be just like superheroes,” FALSE!!! Children desire to be reality tv stars. “Children mimic superhero actions and even dress up in costumes to resemble these characters as much as possible." Yeah I know what you mean cuz everyday I see darn seven-year olds beating up bad guys with heat vision just like superman. "Can you imagine little boys saying, ‘I want a boyfriend or husband like X-Men?’ This is ridiculous!" Can you imagine kids reading and buying comic books today? "As Christians, we know that homosexuality is a sin." You guys get the picture by now. If you want to read the full article, you can read it at comic book resources.com or the one million moms website ( Stupidity discretion is advised.) Other than that just discuss your opinions on this evil Marvel has brought upon the many MANY kids who read comics.
