Really unhappy that my old Gamespot name has taken over my Comic Vine name. The Gamespot name was game-oriented, and even then it was an abbreviation of my original Gamespot name which I lost due to an account screwup. Linking accounts is fine, but forcing me to change my name is pretty crappy.

I notice that on volume pages, there's a line for aliases, but it can't be edited. What's the deal with that? I created a page for Marvel Mega Morphs - Doctor Octopus, and it would be nice to add "Marvel Mega Morphs - Dr. Octopus" as an alias; as the book calls itself Doctor, but people's natural inclination tends to be to use Dr.

So what's the verdict on copying summaries of a comic for its reprint? On hone hand, I'd kind of feel like I'm plagiarizing someone for copying their description; but on the other hand, this is meant as reference sources, so it makes sense that things should be consistent.

Thoughts?

I know we have an entry for the Marvel Mega Morphs series (which looks like some kind of terrible fan-fiction/marketing tool), but there was also a comic packed with each of the toys (which similarly looked terrible), which made up a 9-issue miniseries.

Before I go through the trouble of creating volume pages for all nine, can anyone think of a reason these WOULDN'T be accepted? I mean, they're awful, but we've got an entry for 1984 Iceman miniseries, and that was about the worst comic I've ever read...

I'm not sure there even is a minimum amount of time to wait. Remember how long Barry Allen was dead?

Barry Allen? Barry Allen's come-back was purposely written in from the start. Remember how long Bucky was dead?!

Just want to thumbs-up the idea of have an increased limit for paid users. Heck, you could even have it as a paid option in addition to the usual premium membership. I'd pay for increased limits by itself. I have a TON of comics to scrape with the Comic Rack plugin, and I've had to institute a 5 second pause between every issue to ensure it doesn't hit the limit. That takes a long, long time. I understand the concept of "serving that many hits requires greater resources" and I'd be happy to do my part in providing said resources.

Something to think about.

@wraithtdk: I would still put a note on Batman 616 to alert readers that the story exists elsewhere. No link. Just the brief info.

The notation was a good idea, but I'm not sure it's strongly tied enough to to Batman #616 - Hush Chapter Nine: The AssasinsorBatman #617 - Hush Chapter Ten : The Grave, so I compromised. I made an entry in the Hush story arc page, listing Wizard: The Comics Magazine #0 - Wizard Zero under the "related items" section, with a notation about the story, which was indeed set during said story arc.

Wellll crud. Apparently it WAS bound into the issue itself. I was told (and given a scan) otherwise. I had to track down an actual issue of Wizard #0 to confirm. Oh well.

Just to clarify, it's 616A. The issue is printed just like a normal comic, apart from the magazine (the magazine was in a plastic bag with the comic included), and it looked just like a copy of Batman, except they added the letter A to the numbering.

But yea, I'm not doing anything until a mod gives a verdict. I only recently earned enough points to do approval-free edits. I'm certainly not jeopardizing that status now.

Would it be acceptable to create wiki entries for promotional comics that are, for example, included as a bonus in the now-defunct Wizard: The Comics Magazine?

For example, DC released Batman issue 616A for inclusion with Wizard issue 0. The first page explains that it is set between Batman #616 and #617, and featured an unique 9-page story set during Hush. So could I create a Wiki article for this? And if so, would it be a separate volume, or would it be added to Batman? Unfortunately, it doesn't have the small-print minutia commonly found in comics.
