laura needs somebody who can help her actually be happy, be a normal person, and to make sense of her life. what she needs is someone like gambit. if it werent for a number of reasons why that wouldnt work, i'd actually say gambit. either way x-23 and hellion, odd couple, to be kind. now, no couple. nobody in the avengers academy is right for her... the majority of the young avengers are into guys, and the only one that isnt is just a bad idea. while she would fit in perfectly with the runaways, i dont see a romantic connection there. after everything there's nothing for her with ANY of the new xmen or new mutants, on either side, nor with any of hope's lights. quite honestly, i would actually have to say Jubilee. i'm not being a perv or anything but with Laura's raising, she really shouldnt have any notion or sexuality, and while there are a couple girls who might be alright for her that i've just listed as bad (oh god just watch her end up with surge) the only person i could really see making her happy is Jubilee

If Bunker is gay, and therefore has the stereotypical gay fashion sense, why does his costume look like it was put together by my mom for Halloween 12 years ago?

@Sir_Deadpool: nope. it's the beginning of it. i could be wrong and he could "die" at issue #50, but it's still the beginning of the arc either way. in the blurb marvel posted it says "“DEAD” kicks off in Deadpool #50!" I also first heard this story from the deadpool bugle as opposed to here, and there they said it was the beginning of the arc. he'll be "dead" somewhere in the arc. beginning? middle? end? who knows. maybe he wont even die at all. i'll wait and see. all i know is that #50 is the beginning of a new arc, with Evil Deadpool ending at #49. or maybe sooner and there's another mini arc in between, but thats unlikely

@Sir_Deadpool: Deadpool may not neccesarily be dying in issue #50, it's just the beginning of the arc that leads to his death. like... the beginning of the end

he looks to be in mid 20s when he got his healing factor (i really dont think they would have taken him in at 16) and that was in the mid 80s when it happened 5-10 years before he was introduced, retcon kinda) so that would make him around 50 by now... if comic book characters age that is. However, healing factor slows down aging + comics slow down aging (to the point of nonexistance) so he could very well be mid 30s. With comic books you can never tell age. Spiderman appears to be mid 20s despite being what? 50 years old?

@Wonderboy52:

Ok counterpoints

1) I see nothing wrong with the colors of his costume. Also, where did all you people learn your colors? pink and purple? that is not pink. maroon at the closest but certainly not pink. You're a gay "ethic" (i think you mean ethnic) person and you have a problem with those colors? why? I'm straight and purple is my favorite color. I wish they had kept his costume as badass as the other new costumes, as opposed to making him look like an oldschool campy hero, but i have nothing wrong with the colors.

2) Bunker. That's a pretty badass name. what's wrong with it? a bunker is strong. a bunker is sturdy. Would you have preferred they stuck with his old name "The Wall"? no thank you. that name was lame. bunker is simple. yet implies an unmoving fortitude.

3) a mexican teen who puts up border walls... the way he's been written so far, i barely see him as a "mexican teen", i see him as a teen, same way you shouldnt see him as a gay teen. Thats not how I see him at all. his power confueses me a bit because he seems like a dumbed down purple lantern, but his powers to build the walls come from his personality and character trying to break down the walls of the stereotypes that you seem to be trying to bind him to.

I do not see this as a publicity stunt. I see this as Lobdell wanted to create a character, and this is what he wanted. same as stan lee wanted to create characters and we got what he wanted. Creators create what they want. Not just because of a publicity stunt. And quite honestly, so far of the characters i've seen in the DCNU, Bunker has already become one of my favorites. So if you think nobody will pick him as a favorite, then call me Nobody.
