Well remember GT was total BS it wasnt directed nor had anything to do with Akira Toriyama the series creator other than giving his blessing for them to make it. Almost all the fights seemed scaled down compared to DragonBall Z, and the "Universal" Spirit Bomb was no bigger than the Earth Spirit Bomb at the end of Z it shouldve been huge. GT was a dissapointment I consider whatever this movie brings to the table weather it be better or worse official cannon. I did like the Super 17 saga though but thats probably because it had so many villians from Z in it, but it still was rather ho-hum, and SSJ4 Gogeta the supreme being of the GTverse didnt seem dramatically more powerful than Vegeto. I dunno sorry to rant, i just cant wait to see what this movie brings to the table and if it is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade in power I say re-open the Superman vs Goku debate.

I really hate to be "that dbzfanboy/nerd/guy" that ressurects a dead thread but.....

That already shows Goku surviving the vacuum of space, and i hate to say but a new transformation the Super Sayian God. The only reason i bring this up, which comes out the 30 of this month i believe will bring new information to the debate, this being directed by Akira Toriyama were as GT was not, so this could and should be considered a more official continuation of the DragonBall Z saga rather than furry red bodies and leather pants of GT, plus in my opinion GT seemed very scaled back as opposed to the end of DBZ...so yeah...I feel bad for posting this i just havent seen anyone else yet and Im sure ill catch some hate on this

Im a Goku fan through and through i dont like superman even in the slightest...

but bottom line is Superman is stronger, faster, tougher you name it.... but like they clearly pointed out in DB thats the point, Goku breaks limits, Superman has next to none. I do think the slighted Goku but even if you gave him every benefit of the doubt Superman is just better...which is one of the reasons i dislike him, hes just too overpowered. The closest thing to a fair fight against Superman would be using every single underhanded method possible (kryptonite, teleporting to a red sun etc) which is something Goku would never do because he is in it to test his limits. If your a Goku fan just let him loose with some dignity, he is one of the more powerful characters in all of fiction but Superman is still light years ahead of him. On the flip side i do think there are several villians from DBZ that could take Superman because there already super powerful and they would do whatever it takes to beat him, but even that is a bit of a stretch.

So am i upset Goku lost, sure, but he lost a battle he simply couldn't win.

Ok i had to get in on this even though this thread im sure is very dead. I dont understand how every comic book fan alive can so deeply underestimate Goku. I get it pre crisis Superman was strong, Darkseid is strong etc etc. Goku freaking screams and the earth shakes apart, his punches level mountains, he beats people who blow planets up with one finger, if Goku was in the DC or Marvel universe he would absolutely wreck shit, he can travel faster than the speed of light which yes thats total bs, but he can planet hop so he doesnt even need to breath in space. On top of all that both Superman and Goku have the ridiculous ability to gain a new power whenever they run into a villian they cant beat, granted through training or some newly discovered evolution or whatever bs the writer decides to use as deus ex machina to explain why the character who was about to loose a fight suddenly comes around on top....but i digress there both strong, like stupid strong i like both characters but they both break into the realms of just absurd power levels, anyways i think they would plow through the entire set every time they run into an opponent or opponents who could out match them they'd get some crazy new ability to harness the sun or throw energy bolts the size of universes or something, i really lost myself halfway through this rant but im super fucking high so i dont care, i only signed on this website so i could post something on here....so yeah GOKU/SUPERMAN for the win!!!!!!
