@avenging_x_bolt: They were originally counterparts in the original 190 Pokemon but Game Freak ran out of time to code Heracross into Red, Green/Blue and Yellow.
That said trade a Missingo to Gold/Silver/Crystal and it'll turn into one of the 'missing' 40 Pokemon
Weird. I thought Pinsir and Scyther were counterparts. Like a brawler/karate type thing. Interesting info. I would totally be down for a shared pre-evolution
@impurestcheese: That's fair. I don't agree one everyone that is called a "dinosaur" by some fans but I did forget the Aron line. Hard to argue him. Fair point.
I would think the name might also be based off ray? Like ray of sunlight? Maybe overthinking that. Interesting that these "dinosaur" Pokemon are active in the wild rather then being cloned from fossils.
Not sure if this is intentional or not but both the main dex and the mega form dex link to Bulbapedia. I understand the main but shouldn't the mega link to your mon? I ask because I was looking for him and had to go through your blog.
