Dear Marvel, I "H.A.T.E. U"

Long story short, ya'll done lost your **** minds if you think that I'm happy with this "Storm in the Avengers" ish. I don't know why you allowed Bendis to write, and I don't understand why you have decided to repeatedly downplay Storm, and screw with this marriage in a way that doesn't even make logical sense (Avengers is NOT an upgrade. Ya'll could've just left her single and with the X-Men). What's the point of having a gazillion guest spots, if you aren't even going to be a true heavy hitter. I'm very upset over the fact that I finally got something that I've been wanting for SOOO long (Storm in the Avengers), and ya'll gave this to someone who................I'll be surprised if he says that he is a fan of Storm. I really would.

Really Bendis? Wanda wasn't enough for your greedy ***??

You aren't getting anymore of my money, but you will be receiving letters from my scorned ***.

I'm not doing anymore debates on the character. I'm not buying anything else involving her until someone else tells me it's safe, and I'm not bragging about being a fan anymore, because this is annoying. I've been bottling this ish for SOOOOO long, and now I'm done. I will forever love the Ororo that I grew up with, but I don't know who the hell this "Goddess" character is that ya'll keep trying to shove down my throat, but this ain't cool at all. Why are there only, like, 3 writers who understand how the character REALLY is?? Aren't writers supposed to at LEAST research people before they write for them? Storm's humility and kind personality doesn't even come through anymore. She's overly confident, and gets pwned as a result of that. That's what this has become. But, whatever.

Thanks for wasting my time..........yet again. And I truly cannot WAIT to see what happens with Avengers vs. X-Men.........I wonder if she'll address herself as a "Goddess" again BEFORE Thor drops her with an elemental attack (not a physical attack, but an elemental attack, because that would be the biggest insult to injury, because apparently, even though she has defended herself with her powers many times before, writers forget that she has the ability to do this wonderful thing called "countering")

I'm steadily building up the strength to just move on to DC, cause almost ALL of my favorites are either in writer limbo, or writer hell.

Bendis has a knack for not really "getting" characters he's not really familiar with.

He saw Moon Knight and though that multiple personalities was the main draw for instance.

I guess he sees Storm's power as her main attraction and is trying to express that via her personality or something to that effect.

He left her drooling pink.

I'm not going to watch what happened to Scarlet Witch happen to Ororo. Nope. Not this time.

These douches already gave me Hudlin's ghettofabulousness, and then he improved for DARK REIGN. Now, they don't even give a crap anymore, so I ain't gonna give a crap, and I certainly ain't gonna give a 5 dollar bill for some cheap B.S.

I agree, I'm taking a leave of absence from the battle forums and public discussion about her as well. It is far too embarrassing to defend a character who is currently and for awhile now being treated in such a demeaning manner. I honestly cannot know for sure if it'll ever change. There are just too many lazy bad writers then there are good ones nowadays. So I guess we got our wish. More Storm, just poorly executed everywhere...

Bendis wrote your favorite character out of character in a team book?

My oh my, that must have been dreadful.

I have a love/hate relationship with Marvel love the characters, the concepts and the history/ hate the current people in charge with the burning intensity of a thousand suns and seriously hope Joe Q catches herpes

I recognized the source of my rash awhile ago. Hence why I stopped reading all Avengers material and Marvel events at the ends of Fear Itself/Schism (and why I had faith for that long?) and opened up my time and resources to better well written books. AvX is going to get the same treatment. I'm sure I'll understand the outcome (how complex can the story be, really) and relate to any effects it has on the books I still am reading. I'm sure the issue you read was a disaster. My advice: Love the books and characters as you did, but break the cycle of being compelled by the companies, and their various lures and read what's good and get your smile on by reading the great back issues with your favorites again instead of the toilet paper they're shoving down your eyeballs now.

I understand your frustration. I really do. I don't know if it makes much of a difference, but Bendis's writing is only really good when he has his own continuity to muck with. Hence why Ultimate Spider Man has gotten such acclaim and why his Avengers hasn't. He writes 616 Spider Man the exact same way he wrote Ultimate Peter Parker, when they are completely different. I'd rather have Jonathan Hickman on the Avengers, at least he knows how to handle a team book.

Once Moon Knight is cancelled, it's all DC for me. Dx

Anger and frustration I sense here. Strong with the Dark Side this thread is.

At least I have my Winter Soldier/Brubaker combo, he brought Bucky out of obscurity of sidekicks and turned him into a genuinely dynamic character.

Meh. It'll be okay.

This, Remender's Venom, and Rucka's Punisher. There still are some good writers at Marvel, they just have the wrong people in charge.

At least I have my Gorgon/Bendis combo, I can........eh.......

I love how Bendis relishes in turning perfectly stable heroes into raging psychopaths bent on destroying the Avengers over some hackneyed conspiracy theory.

Did I not say this would happen?

Yes join the DC brigade!! Honestly there are some fantastic titles waiting for you but obviously a few duds as well. I too once read a wide scope of Marvel and you've basically given the reason why I stopped. Daredevil is the only MarveI comic I still read.

Really hit the mark on that one. Plus Marvel editors have a knack for putting one writer per 5 books. They get overworked and their good ideas get diluted

This is true.

Modern comics are just awful. I mean that, truly unreadable.

Both companies have maybe three titles that are worth your money.
(Fantastic Four, Amazing Spider-Man, Venom) (Action Comics, Batman Inc)

Sure I can. And Snyder's Batman would be good if it wasn't just a complete rip off of RIP.

Opinions go both ways. Just because you think something is good, doesn't mean I can't say it sucks. Not everything is positive all the damn time.

Well, you can say "I hate it" or "I don't like it" instead, when you say "it sucks", people think on it as a fact.

No one in the Universe would take "this sucks" as fact. By virtue of the fact that you're saying something sucks, it's opinion. And if they did take it as fact, how is that my fault? Not my responsibility to make sure people know that something is my opinion. If they decide not to buy something because I say it sucks, then I get what I want anyway.

What do you think of the other Bat titles, i.e. Dark Knight, Batman and Robin, Detective Comics?
Posted by FadeToBlackBolt
@TheBatman586: Haven't read Batman and Robin or Detective, but they strike me as entirely pointless from what I've heard. The Dark Knight is hilarious in its terribleness.

I buy it! but I fear that titles like that to get canceled, when I saw the list of the most popular tittles I was kind of happy but also scared, most of the tittles were Batman tittles, people bought them no matter how terrible they are, good tittles are getting canceled just because the characters on them are not popular enough, and that scares me, I don't want Journey Into Mystery to get canceled, people don't know how to buy comicbooks, they bought them just because the characters on them, and that is why people read the Avengers (I am sorry Bendis) it has a lot of popular characters (Spider-man and Wolverine in the same team, lets read that, lol), this thread is a proof of that.

Also my thread, do you remember this one?

Marvel and DC exchanged all their writers, would you still reading comics from them? Or you would still reading comics from the company you like best? - Comic Vine

That's what I'm saying. If something is bad, tell people, and if something is great, tell people. Why do I bag Bendis' Avengers at every opportunity? Because I think it's truly bad, and people should spend their money elsewhere. Mighty Avengers, the greatest Avengers run in decades, was cancelled to make room for Bendis' Avengers, and that's just tragic.
