I don't think the question should be SHOULD they fight crime from the shadows to keep their identity a secret, it should more or less be CAN they do so.

If every Tom, Dick, and Jane that Batman, Superman, etc. fought were just average Joe's flinging a gun around for kicks and giggles, sure, do so from the shadows. Eventually word will get around that hey, someone attacking criminals from the shadows, we shouldn't do this (Or so I think), but not every criminal is normal, or without some sort of combat training, or even from this planet. Sometimes, heroes HAVE to come out of the shadows to do what needs to be done to fight off a greater threat, and once you're out in the limelight, whats the point in going back? Everyone knows who you are now!

So to me, it's really just a matter of time before any super heroe comes out in the open, not so much because they want to, but or less because they have to. That's just my two cents.

The thing that gets me about the whole situation is how QUICKLY it played out. From what I just read, this entire thing, building his lover, running off with her, and finding out she is a robot, only spanned ONE COMIC and that just seems so... fast paced.

On another note, though the idea of a robot genius and supergirl actually hooking up does seem interesting on paper, i couldnt see it lasting long. As noted, where would they go? How would they live their lives? Can he even "satisfy" her needs like a real man can?

Then again, I guess that would be the interesting part of how it would play out IF it did. How would supergirl overcome those obsticles if she even cared to in the first place?

At the end of the day though, supergirls lack of a reaction to it all does leave a bit of a sour note since it just doesnt feel finalized, or just tacked on. Since they went that route, they should have flushed it out more story wise, or left it out entirely.

Interesting indeed! I always had an issue with figuring out WHERE to start when it came to dc comics, but with this "revamp", maybe now I'll have a good starting point and can get my collection going there.
