Marvel seems to be raising the bar on cover art lately. But I'm feeling a little over saturated with Deadpool these days.

Even though they got their tin cans kicked I enjoyed the fight against the Hulk.

It's about time.

As for why Kurt would want to leave heaven (if that is where he is), he is a man of action. You can only sit around meditating in your robes so long before you want to get back in the fight, especially if you have friends on the line.

I had a hard time with this because I've been a GA fan for years, but I think Punisher would take the New 52 Green Arrow. At first Frank won't care much about this unless he has some reason to fight, but if Queen keeps going after him, Punisher has the skills, endurance, and experience to take Green Arrow down.

I wrote an earlier post, but people seem to be underestimating Nightcrawler, so here are some tangible reasons he would take out Gambit.

1^st – Teleportation. Nightcrawler is fast when he teleports, faster than the Ragin’ Cajun. Sure Cyclops took him out once, but that is because Cyclops had spent countless hours training with Nightcrawler and knew him better than most. Gambit doesn’t have that depth of knowledge. The others who have taken him out when he is teleporting have superior senses, which Remy doesn’t.

He can also take out an opponent by picking them up and taking them for a ride. If that takes down Callisto, who is stronger and more resilient than a normal human, it will take out Remy.

2^nd – Strength. Able to KO Shi’ar solders (who are stronger than humans) through body armor. Kurt packs one hell of a punch.

3^rd – Skill. Nightcrawler is an incredibly skilled combatant who can hold his own against much more powerful opponents or groups even without teleporting. If he had swords in hand it would be an even more lopsided fight.

4^th – Physiology. Much mention has been made about Kurt’s tail which is strong enough to pick up a grown man yet nimble enough to fence. He also is more flexible than a normal human and his feet can be used as hands.

5^th – Stealth. Through a combination of Kurt’s indigo fur and a byproduct of his teleportation power, he can disappear when in deep shadows. This gives him an unmatched advantage over even a skilled thief.

6^th- Heart. Kurt is a born swashbuckler and warrior. There is a reason he and Logan are such good friends. While he has morals, he still lives for the fight. He might not be as ruthless as his AoA counterpart, but Kurt won’t back down and will keep at it until Remy is down for the count.

Okay, they spot each other and decide to throw down. Gambit throws a card and blows up a nearby car and Kurt teleports away. Kurt can then either disappear by hiding in the shadows of an alley or go straight on the offensive doing multiple ports and knocks Remy out with a bunch of hits or pick him up and do a quick succession of teleports which messes people up fast. Most of the people who have been able to tag Nightcrawler out when he is teleporting either have heightened senses or know Kurt's style well enough to predict his teleportation pattern. While Remy is quick and cunning he doesn't have the edge to do a preemptive strike. Fuzzy Elf takes it 8 out of 10.

In this fight you have two brilliant strategists who have trained for combat during most of their lives. Yes Batman probably has an edge in the number of combat techniques he knows, but in the end it comes down to the fact Cyclops has power and isn't afraid to use it. While he is a good h2h fighter, Cyclops would probably keep this a fight at distance. If Batman pulls a quick fade into the shadows, Cyclops is probably going to just level all the cover in the area. Even though this is Scott pre-phoenix force, he isn't afraid to get dirty to take out an opponent. Bats is great, but I see the original X-Man taking him out.
