1) Hah. Yeah, I might've emphasized his upper lip a bit too much here.

2) Suspension of disbelief, I guess? I wanted both characters to look really beaten up, and it's sort of like Logan's mask got snagged in Cap's fingers due to the force of the punch.

3) I'm hesitant to use either. I try to use a more grounded style in the vein of Hitch and Cassaday, so I don't put sound effects and minimize the use of speed/impact lines.

1) Page 2, panel 2: Cap seems to have a moustache?

2) I know Cap punches hard but how does Wolverine lose part of his mask from a closed fist punch?

@veshark: Vesh man.. I had no idea you can draw like this. Seriously.. this is absolutely astounding stuff. It's not even the drawings themselves.. it's the way the fight scene panned out. It is absurdly well structured. I can't describe it. You know.. the way you've slotted in those extra panels for close ups to show Cap worrying after losing his shield.. ah I dunno.

It just feels like I've watched a live action fight between comic Cap and Wolverine. That's how good it was. Can't wait to check out the rest of your stuff. Awesome work. If you're hoping to become a comic book artist you really are not far off at all.

@veshark: Your page transitions are very good. The action follows through nicely from one page to the next.

Do not be afraid to exagerate the movement to emphasise that there is action going on. The "art" comes in with finding a balance between exagerating and overexagerating.

I think you are on the right path, though. And I also think that @joygirl is on to a good idea. If you start a regular series that people are involved in and you know you have others expecting you to produce, it may be the right motivation you want/need to give you motivation. Really, it seems like you have most of the mechanics down. The only thing that you need from here is to work your style. The only thing you meed to do that is regularly, consistantly producing and practicing.

You just got my follow.

@veshark: Haha, yes I did draw my profile pic, and yes I did go to art school, but It's hard to say I had formal training. They taught me how to talk and defend myself, and gave me space to develop ideas. There are places you can still go to get Academic art training, the there is illustration school, but I went to neither of these. Most of my drafting and rendering skill is training I've given myself. In high school I took classes with the guy who painted the tristar Pegasus and I once modeled for a portrait artist named Daniel Greene. Neither of these represented the kind of rigor that goes into formal Academic schooling, but I learned a lot through observation.

@veshark: You're welcome. And yeah, something like Superman vs. Zod, Thor vs. Hulk, you get my drift.

Excellent stuff. In terms of criticism I got nothing to add apart of what's been said already but this is pretty damn good.

I'd be interested in seeing a superpowered beatdown for the next one, to see how you'd tackle that.

Also, did you draw your profile pic? You look like you've had formal art training.

There is a lot that is good here, the main things I would work on is fine tuning anatomy and playing with dramatic angles more. The story reads and flows well, so that you don't have to worry about. Textures are also good. Overall your figures are pretty solid, but little things like face symmetry and proportions- eyes at the halfway point of the head etc, keep this stuff at the front of your mind. As for angles, imagine the second panel on the first page rotated 30 degrees to the right... Now Cap is really leaning over Wolvie, the hit feels that much harder, and that power becomes part of the story you're telling. Your torsos are "thick" for Comic trends, they don't narrow at the waits much, but than again, that just means they look like actual strongmen as opposed to body builders.

You've got a real smooth flow to your style, the way his thumbnails do. Again, good job man.

Good work but there is no way Wolvie beats Cap if Cap has his shield. No way.
