Why are comic fans (not generalizing, some comic fans are pretty swell) assuming feats like lifting strength or traveling speed can be helpful to one in combat?

'Cause that's how it works in the comics. That's the simplest answer.

Plus, it's easier to quantify and see who is superior in a certain stat. Since the images are static, we can't see who punches faster than whom(except in rare cases, like the Flash and similar characters), so their strength values are generally used to determine who hits harder.

@frogdog: Fraction has written only one Spider-man issue, but it was absolutely great. It was Sensational Spider-man Annual #1. I believe it won or was nominated for an Eisner or something, as well.

He's also written him pretty well in guest appearances. I would love for him to take over after Slott's run.

Round 1- Team Takes it handily

Round 2- Spider-man. I see Captain America and X-23, of course, lasting the longest, with Spider-man putting Moon Knight and Kraven down fairly easily.

@pooty: Just gonna point out, he clearly hurt Thor in that fight they had. Thor remarked that Spidey's flurry of punches were wearing him down.

And he's been able to harm Hulk with his blows pretty consistently.

Doesn't mean I'm saying he's not street level, just making we've got all the facts here.

@nefarious: I'm not sure if Cage is strong enough to break out of webbing, but Danny should be able to shred through it with his chi.

Cage is more than strong enough to break free of the webbing. The webbing is not a factor in this fight.

Ummm didn't Peter's organic webs hold down Iron Man when he spammed them?

Keaton. Barnes is also great. Sam Riegel was pretty decent. Wouldn't mind him continuing to do the video games if Keaton isn't gonna do them any more.

I always explain away Deadpool's lower showings, like these, as part of his fourth wall awareness. He takes dives for the sake of comedy/the plot, cause he knows that's what the story requires.

@laflux: Thanks. I would do so, but I've never managed to figure out how to get my scans to look all organized like everyone else on this site has.

My scans are organised O_O?

More organized than I've ever managed.

Sorry, but the scenes with him listening to Uncle Ben's voice mail and him giving the kid his mask to "make him strong" are too good for the movie to be awful.

It's not near the level of Spider-man 2, but it had some terrific scenes and was pretty good overall.
