she bit her lip a touch and gave him a light shrug before smiling at him, softly "When is there not something on my mind, Nate? You know me.. I'm never at a loss for something to say." she curled once again beside him at the counter and leaned against him a little. she really didn't want to tell him she'd been avoiding her own job. that wouldn't look good. and she wasn't sure, but telling him she quit school.. well yeah I mean it's not like he's her Dad? But she felt he would be disappointed.. "Saving people? Sounds like you really are a full fledged hero, now. You're doing real good now Nate. I'm proud of you. I quit.. the hero bit. After we parted in San Francisco, I.. didn't have it in me. I know you're back now, but.. I still don't know if it's worth trying to be anything more than what I am. And right now, that's a Waitress." letting out a small sigh, she lifted her head and slipped off the barstool. she walked around the counter and leaned on her elbows, giving him a bright smile "So handsome, what can I get you?"
"Nate!!" she turned around and sent him an enormous smile. as he wrapped her into that massive hug, she let out a giggle and hugged him tightly"I missed you, too! Has the place been this.. quiet?"
she stared up into his eyes softly as her fingers laced with his. she listened as he tried to encourage her, giving her pieces of his strength and confidence. as he spoke on the fortress he found, her eyes widened a bit "A fortress? That the crystals led you to? What... does it look like? Where is it? What's it like?" her mind was spinning. she felt like she had a million questions about it, but it comforted her to knowhe didn't stand her up. that's what scared her the most"Can you really show me?"
she lifted her head softly and returned the kiss. sending him a soft smile, she snuggled back against him and let out the softest sigh "Hi Nate. I.. I don't know. I had a bad dream last night and I just don't know what to make of it. I keep wondering when my parents are going to show up and tell me I can't see you anymore." she just shook her head softly "But enough about me. Are you okay? I.. didn't see you last night. We were supposed to go to the concert."
she walked into the shop and curled into her usual booth. looking to just have some time to think, she laid her head down on her arms and closed her eyes
BCS? Are you serious? You know what the BCS really stands for, right? That is like the most convaluted, retarded, unfair system ever. PLAYOFF. That's the only way to get it done.. Nothing should be decided based on the BCS.
