Daredevil's solo title is no stranger to Eisner Awards and critical acclaim. As of late it seems though that he isn't making the same impact on the Marvel Universe that he used to. The question now becomes, with Marvel NOW should he be appearing in more books? He has his own solo titled and a miniseries that just started but is that enough? Marvel has been doing events since Disassembled and Daredevil hasn't had much of a role in most of them and I think his lack of exposure is hurting the character immensely. Is it possible to expand the market and the amount and type of people who are exposed to Daredevil without taking away what's unique about him? His books are obviously written well, how can Marvel get more people to read?

I think he could handle another ongoing title.I also think they should bring back the Marvel Knights(team) and have him featured in that heavily.A character that has had the success as DD has had should be a lot bigger than he is.I think with Marvel getting his rights back they might start featuring him in other forms of media which will help his popularity.He will also be appearing in X-men 39 to team up with Domino in December so that's another appearance.I think he gets left out of big events because his powers and weapons aren't as flashy as some of the other characters in the Marvel universe.But since everybody's costume is changing in Marvel Now I wouldn't mind an upgrade of costume like they did back in the 90's.

@Vance Astro: I think it could be possible to have the Marvel Knights title, Moon Knight was recently a Secret Avenger and he is just plain crazy. I think all the Marvel Knights could use a boost (Shang Chi,Iron Fist,Cloak & Dagger,Elektra etc.). I just think these events were a huge disservice to any street leveler that wasn't an Avenger or didn't have a meaningful role in the events.
@Vance Astro: I agree, even though most didn't enjoy the Shadowland event... I really like the concept of the street heroes having their own internal event that would have serious consequences. Hopefully more events like this (with better quality) will be announced.

I agree. Shadowland seemed like a really good idea that was poorly executed.

It appears Falcon will be a member again. Probably because he'll be appearing in Captain America 2, which sucks because Daredevil is definitely more deserving of a spot than he is. But this is HIckman's Avengers so maybe he'll get some use out of him.

So maybe, just stop doing events then? That way character that are already immensely popular aren't getting such a ridiculous amount of exposure. It's like Marvel isn't letting us decide what is most important to us anymore it's just AVENGER,AVENGERS,AVENGERS!

A new and better film would obviously help give him more exposure among people. As for the actual comic world that's a tough one. Well that WOULD help, but what's the likelihood of that happening? Marvel will put out cartoons about the same characters over and over again. They never seem to change up. I mean how many Spider-Man series are we going to have? Iron Man? Hulk? The X-Men? The Avengers? What about Captain America,Punisher,Daredevil,Ghost Rider,Thor?

Heh, I can see what you're getting at. I prefer having each character almost centred in their own universe with almost no contact with other heroes except for some slight guest appearances and team-ups to please fans every now and then.

What is wrong with his classic red costume? A lot people hated his costume from the 90's (I found pretty cool), I don't see the need for a new costume nor do I think it will boost the sales.
To be completely honest, I never gave two sh*ts about Daredevil but in the two most recent X-Men books he was in them with Domino and that made me really look into the character. I just bought 18-20 on Waid's run and I plan on continuing with it monthly. I'm also trying to get a couple graphic novels. I'm sorry that I never gave him a chance but I'm glad I finally have.

He doesn't need an introduction he needs more exposure. Someone sent me a PM yesterday asking what Daredevil was doing in Marvel NOW. People don't know what's going on with the character.

I don't think it's the same in this case. People DO know who Daredevil is but judging by the massive decline in sales it would appear that Daredevil lost readers\fans. The problem wasn't that character was just never that popular, the problem was Marvel stopped letting characters stand on their own and lumped them all into teams and that's where they put all of their emphasis and attention. The most important Avengers and X-Men get all the attention and everyone else has faded into obscurity. Some people probably don't even know Daredevil still even has an ongoing.

Unless you made a team of street level heroes (heroes for hire seems to be against Matt's believe he does a lot of charity with his law firm and don't seem like the character that want to sell his super powers). I wasn't aware the sales where declining I taught they have been steady since the Bendis era? Do you have a link? Actually he was part of a team when I made this thread, he was a New Avenger. The team was mostly street levelers save for Strange,Ms.Marvel & Thing. His sales weren't steady since Bendis, I don't have a link..I went to comichron and looked up the numbers for each month myself and matched them to the release dates. Daredevil's ongoing and End of Days are getting overshadowed by Marvel NOW. We know that the book is still going because we're fans but other readers may not know what's going on. They should have held End of Days until Marvel NOW was launched. DD isn't any part of their promos.
Yeah. sadly End of days released on a weird time without fanfare. Hopefully the trade will be a hit. Didn't know about New Avengers has just recently got back into comics.

It wasn't it's own universe. The Marvel Knights were a team and half the members didn't have their own ongoing.

I'll my 2 cents. Please, please, please, keep DD out of the events. I HATE having to read something that is shoehorned into a character, and Daredevil being part of an event would definitely be like so for me.
Really, I don't like company wide events at all, I think that they just delay or wreck the storylines that the writer is trying to tell.

How is it boring. Like Zyrok said it is simple and classic and most important of all it gives a clear idea and symbol of what DD is all about.. Also it real destroys the discussion when you close it down by saying you don't care on other people. Of cause you a aloud to have your opinion but it breaks the discussion before it starts. If you gave a better reason other than it is boring for instance: Why is it boring? What do you want in stead? And so on could give more to the subject.

It is boring to me. If it is not boring to you then good. I don't like it. I am glad it destroys the discussion I am not interested in a protracted discussion about a costume that you like and i don't like. It's pointless. People have different tastes and opinions.

First of all i will post what I want. Second of all I have no interest in someone disagreeing with my opinion on a costume being boring and trying to convince me that it isn't. It is futile. People have different tastes. It's that simple. Nor am i interested in a long conversation about what I post and why. You cannot control anyone over the internet. It is an exercise in futility to even try. Post what you want and I shall do the same. Goodbye.
