If someone can think of something interesting to do with a Storm ongoing, then yes, they should give it a go. It seems that the only reason to not try an ongoing with a well known character would be that no-one has any ideas for what to write for them.

is it because they don't want another lady to be in competition with Ms Marvel? (well i believe they have Rogue not having her powers anymore so people would support Ms marvel)

When I read that scene, it seemed a little odd that Batgirl took such a pounding, but I'm hearing she's kinda weak, and I know that Batwoman's strong, so I understand it now.

@wessaari: Batwoman's not one of the family, but you could be right about the strength, she is pretty tough after all.

I just mean that it can be hard to find a mainstream superhero comic with a female lead in which the fact that she (or they) are female doesn't seem like half of the premise, which seems completely unnecessary to me. There are some, to be sure, but the X-men have been doing it through some of their best and most popular periods for years.

Could you give some examples?

What really does bug me is trying to read a writer attempting to convey a character with a Scottish accent. The recent Crossed Badlands Annual was so very distracting! I recall that Garth Ennis did this as well sometimes in Hellblazer. I guess the problem for me is that I haven't heard the Scottish accent enough for my mind to have any tools for projecting onto the words I am reading.

But I did like it when Karen Gillan opened up her brogue full throttle.

Sorry, I can't work out if you mean you struggle reading people with Scottish accents in comics, or that the ones you've mentioned, have Scottish accents written badly in them.
