@batwatch: Just the motivation behind it really. With an actual protest it's to try and achieve something, whereas turning up to abuse someones friends and family because you didn't like them is just deliberately causing trouble.
I see what you mean though as other kinds of protests can potentially be a problem. I suppose it depends how they're individually conducted.
Because 65% of the population is white, hence most superheroes are white.
White superheroes seem to get way more than 65% of the spotlight though.
I think less than 65% of the population is white, unless you just mean United States. Either way, Americans aren't the only ones writing, drawing, otherwise creating, reading or starring in American comics, so there's more factors to consider.
