@Hawkeye446: First off great blog. There is a lot of hubbub as you say out there, but I am beginning to wonder if it just all boils down to "humans like sex" and we like to talk about it. If we don't talk about our own sex lives we talk about the sex lives of others whether they be fictional or real. Of course this doesn't mean we don't like to talk about other things as well.
As far as the comics go, I personally thought Catwoman was very well written and I enjoyed it, but it was just one penstroke away from pornography. I don't think anyone would be comfortable with their young child reading something with that amount of graphic content. There is a reason why comic stores have what is called "the top shelf" at least where I live. At the store I worked at I was told that if a kid picked up a comic and it had boobs or graphic detail in the form of language or physical depiction then the store could be fined. Comics that have that kind of detail get put on the top shelf usually to keep these comics out of the reach of small children.
With Starfire though, I think Fodigg said it best and echoed my sentiments on the matter.

However, the recent hubbub about Starfire wasn't about her being sexy, it was about her being a one-dimensional non-character sex doll, completely in opposition to her previous portrayals (which were also sexy and promiscuous but at the same time totally different in very important ways).
