Howdy new friends!
I'm relatively new to the site, but a long time fan of comics and superheroes specifically. I was hoping to get some feedback on a pet project I'm working on with some friends.
Basically we're starting a documentary project exploring the themes of superhero comics in American pop-culture. The superhero is one of the most popular and enduring characters in American history and I'm just curious as to what makes them so pervasive throughout the country, and more recently the world.
It would basically follow us as we road trip across the U.S. to the San Diego comic-con. Along the way we'd explore various institutions in the history of superheroes. For example, we'd stop in Cleveland, OH to see the house where Siegel & Shuster first created the character of Superman, and do a walking tour of NYC to explore some of the real life locations featured in many of Marvel's comics.
All I'm trying to do here is gauge how many people would actually be interested in helping to fund/support this project or see the results. Is there even an audience for this sort of thing? If so, what other locations would you recommend?
