Must we keep calling them "revelations"? "Making things up as you go while rebooting your franchise because you have no respect for your own past/tradition" are not "revelations."
A "huge success"? I'm pretty sure that's what Japan thought December 8, 1941. Let's wait awhile before declaring DC's relaunch a "huge success." Many TV pilots are enjoyable, but after that the ideas run dry all-too quickly. As others have said, Marvel does not need to relaunch its line, just return to the quality stories and characters it had before the downward path post-Onslaught (and the ubiquitous "events"). That might mean a "creative teams" relaunch, instead.
Once again the lack of creative writing and genuine commitment to the history of series/characters/titles rears its head in the new millennium of Marvel. Time to order those back-issues TPBs, everyone, or the dvd-roms with the 40 years of issues. This is a sad time indeed.
I wouldn't blame the character - the fault lies in the recent generation of "writers" that don't know what to do with these characters. Just as the reboot/special effects era is destroying cinema, the mega-crossover/change-for-the-sake-of-change era in Marvel is ruining what once were great characters and good stories.
The Askani probably just love epaulettes. Nothing says "Apocalypse resistance" like neo-classical, pseudo-Victorian shoulder wear. The Askani'Son with epaulettes just makes sense. Domino wearing a bustle, likewise, could work.
