I was really hoping that this whole thing would ultimately develop into the relaunch/continuation of The Superior Spider-Man. I loved that story arc so damn much.
This was a really fun arc and I highly recommend that Sonic and/or Mega Man fans pick it up. Frankly, it made me all the more disappointed by the cancellation of the Mega Man series.
I was excited for this until I found out what they were fighting over, and the team line ups. It feels to me like Marvel saw that Carol isn't popular, so they gave her a lot of their a-list characters.
If she isn't popular by the end of this push she never will be.
I plan on taking Captain Marvel off of my pull list simply because of her stupid haircut, so maybe Marvel should stop trying to give her a weird, progressive hairdo and just let it hang long and straight like a normal person. Also, man, do I not care about outer space in my superhero comic books. I tolerated the last volume but never found it to be particularly interesting. But, hey, I stuck with it because she had long hair!
I like Carol Danvers and I was a fan of the Kelly Sue-DeConnick run, but I honestly kind of wish Marvel would stop making Danvers look like Ellen DeGeneres. I'm all for equal rights for women, but I don't think making them look like men is flattering to them. The costume looks great, but I think they should keep her hair long-ish, or at least give her a bob-cut. Just my opinion.
Totally. I loved how during her last run, Carol's hair was long and when shit got serious she'd don her mask/helmet and mohawk. Not digging her look in this book at all. The new costume has always been fine, but there comes a point with a redesign where you go too far and it doesn't even look like the old character anymore.
I typically feel like snippets from a movie for a trailer or ad aren't really spoilers if no context is given. Okay, so they showed Doomsday. Is he from space? Is he an experiment made from Zod? Does he have a goal or is he a mindless monster? Just knowing that he's in the movie isn't enough.
On the other hand, I saw absolutely no footage of Amazing Spider-Man 2 before I saw the movie, and upon going back to watch some trailers and TV spots, yeah, they sure did show a lot of Green Goblin. His appearance caught me off guard and not knowing about it definitely made the moment more enjoyable. But again: context. They show Harry as Gobby. That's a spoiler.
