I'm assuming almost everyone here has read the latest Issue of Justice league, #43. While i enjoyed the issue, i was put off, again, by conveniences taken with respect to furthering Superman's role in the story. These conveniences have become common place with superman with Oh kryptonite, oh magic, oh red sunlight but now with the latest issue of JL...My question is-

When did Superman become an iPhone!?

Now suddenly he loses his charge within hours of not being in direct sunlight? I really want to praise Johns with what he's doing with the darkseid war but that is cringeworthy, zero imagination and a total cop out.

I like the whole solar battery aspect of supes, it kind off establishes his limits. I like the portrayal the most in Superman: Exile, where Supes's powers fade after weeks of use and no direct exposure to sunlight or when he fought doomsday, he fought so hard and used so much power at once that it almost drained him completely but THIS,smh.

A throwaway line from Lex about his suit putting out an adjustably low level kryptonite energy coupled with the lack of a sun could have saved it for me, he wasn't even wearing that green knight suit. I'm probably gonna enjoy the rest of the darkseid war, sickeningly overdone corrupt superman aside but this is gonna be one of those bitter moments of, i don't want to say disrespect but rather apathy towards superman.

What does everyone think about the circumstances leading to Supe's corruption this time?

This is the issue of truth i've been waiting for!! And expecting ever since this arc began(I think everyone put off by truth so far has been). Tomasi just saved this storyline for me (a lil bit). Don't know what the other writers are doing but they should take note.

Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this issue, the pacing, The action beats, the dialogue, the characterisation! Salty Perry White aside. People were actually being sensible, i mean they way the reactions to 'The truth' were being portrayed in every other superman title was frustrating but this explains it in a really good way, especially the part of the benefit of the doubt. I was seriously going to start a thread about the reality of the reaction behind 'the truth' and why the public(in the dcu) were so butt hurt.

Was grinning my whole way through this issue. The whole convo with the president...Eeeeeee :D

Sorry i'm all over the place, excited that i enjoyed an issue of Superman/WonderWoman the truth storyline.

And as @squalleon said the success of this arc will be determined by the next issue and for me, Lois's response, if Tomasi nails Lois('s response), he's officially my new favourite writer on a superman book.

And i have to mention that Wonder Woman is Awesome in this as well, so badass.

Ahh Mister Santiago's kinda meta commentary on the world at large, damn never expected i'd be this happy with an issue from this arc.

Damn Stave is salty. Stop being a douche Steve, WonderWoman made her choice.

That is a recurring theme with a lot of Superman's own supporting cast in all his other books, one that in some cases is turning up some really weird characterisation.

This one preview is the single most interesting thing to come out of truth and sadly that's not saying much, trusting Tomasi to tell a sensible, interesting story with appropriate characterisation.

Wow, Churchill's style's really changed. Looks like he's been influenced by Greg Capullo.

Didn't even realise he was the artist before reading this comment...What the hell happened to Churchill's style!! This is pretty drastic.

Who's hoping that when Superman returns to his former glory, he comes back better and stronger and more confident and the fortress fashions him a new better (more well thought out) suit?

Strangely, ever since the beginning i never saw it as 'underwear on the outside' to me it was just that red part of Superman's outfit around his crotch with that simple yellow belt that provided a prominent distinction between his torso and legs and a perfect colour balance to his costume, just like batman had that black part under his belt, which was even a part of the Arkham asylum and city outfits. It also used to peeve me(honestly still does a little) when people brought up the whole underwear on the outside thing, i honestly didn't get it. I can understand now but when i see the OG outfit, i still think it's much better than the current versions. Perfection in simplicity is what superman's costume was and needs to be, geez i sound like apple.
