Cyclops is currently out of his mind and people don't like him. He's lost that admirable charismatic flare he once had in favor of this zealot dream quest he'll never see the fruits of. He's a maniac who has lost the plot. Amongst who, and what he have, he's fallen far.

No offense, but articles like this is an example of why it is hard for some people to try to be creative with their interpretations of certain characters in film adaptations. I've read a dozen comments that basically can be reduced to : "Superman does not do that." While I understand where they are coming from, if we go about judging movies based on what we believe is the ‘correct’ version of the character, we have screwed anyone from ever trying anything new. Unless you pull another Dark Knight, you are never going to universally please anyone. Man of Steel IS a superman movie. its just not your Superman.
