General Info (mini-summary)
Polaroid is a human [normal universe counterpart: electric ghost]. He has no powers, but he uses flashbulbs for disorientation purposes, and has no morals whatsoever. He relies on stealth, an unrecognized fighting style, and prefers blades to guns, though he's not picky. He always carries a polaroid camera (surprise surprise) and photographs his victims.
Polaroid is short (about 5'5") with slightly shaggy brown hair and sharp eyes. He dresses fairly casually, jeans, sneakers, and a band t-shirt usually, but with dark gloves and wrap-around sunglasses that are actually fastened to his head [it would take him about five minutes to get them off]. For the purpose of this mission, he is wearing a bullet-proof vest under his clothing. His camera is generally hung about his neck, though he can strap it to his belt if need be. He fights mainly with knives, often coated in some noxious substance. His fighting style is erratic, the primary goal to cause damage with no regard for personal well-being. Like many killers, he has a high pain tolerance. He is extremely agile, and does not stay in one place very long (preferring to stab without being seen, and then dance away). As I already mentioned, he uses flashbulbs to confuse, blind, and disorient his opponents.
Personalitywise, Polaroid is snide, snarky, and generally unpleasant. He possesses no charisma, and while he may appear to be cultured this pretext is thrown out the window as soon as a fight begins. He is not phased by insults or trash talk, and does not banter unless he believes he believes that he has the upper hand. He quickly develops a bond with his intended victim and will viciously attack anyone who looks like they may take the victim away from him.
Vine Universe Prime
Polaroid was one of the thugs and villains who accompanied Ultimate Io in his mission to take down Fox Company. He was promptly killed by Cain, and left for dead in a laundry chute. The exact cause of his resurrection is unknown (as is how he got to Earth at the same time he was supposedly dead) but there are several likely theories:
1.
Found floating in space, Polaroid was taken in by the same aliens that resurrected Io. Instead of being thrown eighty years into the future, Polaroid was stuck a week or so in the past when returned to Earth.
2.
Not quite dead, Polaroid was considered perfect fodder for the time-eating villain Ubik, who resided at all times in Half-Life. Hooked up to the machines, he was simultaneously rejuvenated and sent back in time, possibly due to the intervention of the other residents of Half-Life. Perhaps this is all Polaroid's dream as he lies dying.
3.
Polaroid's spirit was drawn to the quantum mesh surrounding the laboratory of Herbert West. He was reanimated, then released back into the world, leaving before he got there due to the paradoxical nature of the laboratory itself. If so...what will happen when the paradox is cleared?
4.
His memory was gathered at the moment of his death by Mnemosyne and Polaroid [of Earth Prime]. They gave the memory flesh. Perhaps though...perhaps he does not truly live anymore, but Polaroid [of Ult-Earth] is just an electric hologram, capable of independent thought.
---
Whatever the case, Polaroid is back and continuing his 'work'.
