Now James has to come on the podcast, he got a 5 star review!

That's what I was going to say :P

Can't wait to read this, Earth-2 is becoming my second favourite New 52 title behind Batman.

it seems like G-man is kinda biased towards Damian. One of the reasons i like damian so much is because so many people hate him

I love Damian because he really is an annoying brat sometimes, what would be the point of him being like any other Robin? He's a screwed up kid, which makes for good stories to be told about him. Will he grow into being a good honest Super hero, or become an anti-hero, or even a major villain? Who knows, but finding out over the next few years sounds like fun.

Barry Allen messed with the space time continuum so much that 10 years = 5 years. Flashpoint solves everything, or at least can take the blame for anything inconsistent.

I picked up the first issue and am loving this series. This is also my first Star Wars comic.

@Brownghost: I know. My comic shop sucks. Each time a new issue gets released he sells out in like an hour because he only gets a couple of issues each month. The store is extremely small and has a terrible section sadly.

Since so many issues have passed I've decided to just wait for the trade. I really want it though. Everyone says it's amazing.

Talk to the shop owners, they probably only order in a "safe" number of issues because they don't want to be stuck with unsold comics especially for less well known titles. If you go in and they have sold out of a comic always ask if they can order it in. If you are a regular customer they should be willing to at least try and get it in for you. Also if you know something is coming out you want to read, let them know ahead of time and get them to put it aside for you. A good comic store should allow you to have a standing order or pull list. The more regular customers who do this the better the stores ordering becomes. It's a win/win for you and the store, you know you'll always get the comics you want and the store knows it has a sale for that comic.

I like the fact that Miles currently doesn't have web shooters, he has other abilities like the temporary invisibility thing. Once he gets web shooters he'll have more abilities than Peter Parker. I sort of hope he doesn't get web shooters at all or at least something limiting their use. However given that the cover of issue #1 appears to show him shooting a web he's almost certain to get them at some point.

I started reading this from issue 3 which didn't hook me completely, but I really want to give this series a go considering the hype around it. Is it that important that I missed the first 2 issues? I can only order my comics from the internet as there aren't really any shops in England!

It will make a whole lot more sense if you start at issue 1, if you don't want to wait to order it online you could always go to comixology and get a digital copy.

There may be a comic shop not too far from you, check out http://www.comicshops.co.uk/retailer/england.htm

This is the best Detective Comics issue since the relaunch, just when I was getting ready to cut back to just getting Batman, and Batman and Robin this arc definitely looks like it has potential.

Sara, you say "Replace Bruce Wayne with any rich dude who owns a billion-dollar company and it wouldn't matter".

I disagree, as Bruce Wayne is not just any old rich dude, he's Batman and thus a real threat to seriously hurt Barbara. If it was just any old rich dude it wouldn't create the same tension dramatically.

At full mental capacity we'd expect Bruce Wayne to beat Batgirl in a fight. He's possessed, so that's in Batgirls favor, maybe. But it also means he could do more than just beat her, he could do far more damage than he normally would, as he might not stop at just incapacitating her.
