My Favorite characters or teams. Basically Super Awesome Stuff. Now 100% comic characters. Video Game Characters list on Giant Bomb.

In the process of reorganizing this list. Taking me forever though.

List items

  • The very concept of the Avengers is awesome. Gather the worlds greatest heroes to tackle the worlds biggest threats. I have to say I love the cartoon on Disney XD and the movie was amazing. I hope to see more from the Avengers and maybe even read the comics once Bendis is done with them.

  • Iron Man I became a fan of when I saw his movie. I always knew about him, but never really knew about him. He is the perfect phoenix metaphor. Rising from the ashes to be something even better than he was before. Plus his armor is always so awesome. Besides the problems with alcohol, who doesn't want to be Tony Stark? I mean c'mon.

  • Cap is a real American hero, as corny as it sounds. I never really thought much of Cap honestly. He was just kinda there. When I started getting into Comics again and the more the media associated with them, I saw Caps awesomness. He's just a regular guy fighting for his country and I think that's very respectable.

  • The hulk is the ultimate Dr.Jekyl/Mr.Hyde reference gone awesome. The dynamic of control in Hulk books is always very interesting. Plus its fun to see the Hulk come out and just wreck everything.

  • Hawkeye really is just a regular guy who is good with a bow. That doesn't stop him from fighting alongside Cap, Iron man and Thor against foes like Ultron. Thats what I like about him though. He doesn't care if he isn't special. He works with what he has and he still succeeds.

  • The original and best femme fatale, Black Widow. I enjoyed her in the live action stuff and also in the Avengers cartoon.

  • My friend introduced me to Ms.Danvers and ever since I've been a huge fan. Ms.Marvel manages to not only be powerful and attractive, but is also pretty funny too. She is basically Marvel's Superwoman, and one of my all time favorite characters.

  • Who doesn't love Spider-man? I grew up reading his comics, watching his cartoons, and watching his movies. I relate with Spidey so much. He ranks up there with my all time favorite heroes.

  • T'challa is the king of Wakanda, but still finds time to be a super hero. I always really liked his costume. Its like a tribal Batman costume or something. I came to like him more after his role in the Avengers cartoon.

  • I always liked Wasp, but I can't really put my finger on why. She has cool powers,a great personality and is a great character overall. I do enjoy her alot in the Avengers cartoon.

  • Thor too, like Cap, Was kinda just there. I really didn't start to care much about him until I looked into him a bit. After the Thor movie I was hooked. He is such a cool character. I can see why he has as big a following as he does.

  • Scarlet Witch has never been a super favorite of mine, but I do enjoy that her powers allow her to do crazy things. I mean she turns people into boxes in X-men Legends 2. BOXES. I didn't like M Day much however.

  • Hellcat had some crazy origins. From girls fashion comic to super hero. She is all around a very cool character.

  • White Tiger is about the only character that I liked out of the Avengers Academy main roster that I didn't previously like. Part of that may also be her role in the Ultimate Spider-man cartoon however. She has a cool design and powers.

  • I have to say its weird looking at Spider-man adaptations and seeing Flash as a bully and knowing he will become Venom one day. I don't like Flash as a bully. I think he needs to be a bully to be able to grow as a character and one day earn the right to be the badass hero he is. I really enjoy the Venom series staring him. Great job transforming a character.

  • Firestar is a character I only really know from a few comics and her old show with Spidey. Her powers are pretty awesome however.

  • HUMAN ROCKET PUNCH!!! I am thoroughly enjoying him in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. Really cool look, I don't know much about him though.

  • She-hulk is awesome. She is not only a lawyer, but also the cousin of the hulk, has an awesome sense of humor, and is a gorgeous emerald giant of awesome. I first saw her on the Hulk Cartoon, and since then can't get enough of her.

  • Lyra is the daughter of the Hulk and Thundra. She comes from a future much like Amazonia of Wonder Woman lore. I really enjoyed her in the Hulk and She-hulk books I read that have her in them. I think she gets underused in Avengers Academy, but then again everyone in that book does.

  • One of the best teams in comics. I grew up watching the cartoon but stayed around long enough to read the comics. The constant struggle for freedom is something anyone can relate to I think.

  • Wolverine is the best he is at what he does. What he does I don't think anyone is really sure. Is it making toast? I'm sure he could butter a piece of toast like its nobodies business. Kidding Aside Wolverine is an awesome character. I've liked him since I was a kid and I'm sure I'll continue to like him as I grow older.

  • Rogue was always my sister's favorite when we watch the 90's X-men cartoon. As she got out of comics and moved on to other things, I picked up some of her X-men issues and began to see how cool the character was. She has to live with the reality that she can never touch anyone. That's gotta be hard. It makes for a great conflict and an even better character. Plus the southern belle thing doesn't hurt either.

  • X-23 I have a recent appreciation for. I knew about her from X-men Evolution but never got to know her until Marvel vs Capcom 3. I have since began reading her books and love the character. She is basically Cameron from Terminator TSCC. She is different from most people in that she never learned the basic social behaviors, but instead learned how to be a killing machine. So in alot of ways she is missing alot of what makes her human. The thing I love about her stories is that she is trying to fix that. She doesn't want to be a government experiment, she wants to gain her humainity. I think that's a really cool concept. Look I made her #23 on my list! HAH!

  • Jean Grey is another interesting character. I enjoy the fact that she is always very reserved, and yet she is the most powerful mutant on the x-men, even more so than professor X or Magento. Her struggle with the Phoenix force is always cool to read/see as well.

  • Dom is another character I have a new appreciation for. I like her sarcastic nature and her powers are pretty awesome. Her look doesn't hurt her either. I'd love to read more stuff with her in it.

  • I used to like Wolfsbane as a kid because she is a werewolf. After reading some stuff with her in it and getting to know her character more, I've come to appreciate the struggle she has to endure. She had a pretty messed up past, but I like that she is able to keep moving forward.

  • Emma is a character I have grown a appreciation for over the years. I always enjoy telepaths. If I had to pick a power that would be it. Combine a powerful telepath with a Femme Fatale and you got Emma Frost. Super Awesome.

  • Psylocke is one of those characters I think you have to like. She is a psychic ninja with a British accent. That's gotta be awesome right?

  • Charles Xavier is one of the great comic book characters because he is a man who wishes for peace. Peace that isn't exactly wanted by everyone. Unlike his friend Magneto, Charles would rather seek peace than dominance. I've always respected that fact about him. He creates the institute and the X-men as a way of helping mutants learn and defend themselves, not as a army or anything like that. Plus he has the best power ever.

  • Hope is a character I found somewhat silly for a while. She is the so called "Mutant Messiah". I came to like her from the recent Uncanny X-men book. I find her powers really awesome, plus the fact she gets the Phoenix force is awesome. She also has a great costume with a wonderful scarf.

  • Colosso. The big guy has always been interesting to me. A mountain of a man with steel skin is awesome. Now that he has the power of the cytorak on his side he is practically invincible. Though I don't like the fact his Juggernaut helmet is part of the powers. Nevertheless Colossus is a great character and one of my favorite X-men.

  • Nightcrawler is just one of those cool characters. He's always been around and so you grow to like him. I do like the theme of him being religious and looking like a demon. Very cool idea there.

  • Jubilee for a long time I thought was the stupidest character ever. Her powers were silly beyond comparison. Once she lost them in M-day and gained vamparism a bit later, I came to grow more of an interest in her. I do enjoy vampires, and the fact that she has to struggle with not wanting to devour her friends is pretty interesting. I will say the X-23 series probably is what made me start to like her more.

  • The New X-men is a great series. I really liked everyone on the team and the writing was awesome.

  • Pixie is a character I originally wrote off as "not for me". Reading New X-men has changed my mind. She is a very fun and charming character with hilarious powers and an equally hilarious personality. I look forward to reading more stuff with her in it.

  • Mercury I had no idea about until reading New X-men. She is actually very interesting. Her powers are cool and I like the fact that she used to be very beautiful, but then her powers kicked in and she has had to got through a long road of self acceptance. Very cool.

  • Anole is a cool character who I cam to know from New X-men. His reptilian design, cool powers and overall great personality make him a favorite.

  • Surge is one of the new X-men and she is probably one of the coolest. I always enjoyed electric powers, so its cool to see a X-man with them for once. She is also a cool character overall. While she is a bit arrogant, she still will go out of her way to help someone she cares about. The blue hair helps too.

  • Rockslide is a mutant I discovered after reading New X-men. He has a great sense of humor and Thing like powers. He can also reassemble himself if he gets blown up so he is technically immortal.

  • The Fantastic Four are one of the best Super teams. The concept of family has always been important to me, so to see an actual family that fights crime is always cool. Plus it has some of the coolest heroes in its roster.

  • I began reading the Future Foundation comics and I like what I am seeing. they tend to focus more on the Fantastic Four as a family instead of just a super hero team. The addition of Spider-man and making it sort of old school X-men ish with the school aspect is great as well.

  • I never really cared for Sue until Jessica Alba played her in the movies. If you know me, you know I have a huge thing for Jessica Alba. But she only made me see the light on how awesome Sue is. She is the bond that holds the Fantastic Four together. She also has some of the coolest powers ever.

  • Johnny is the joker of the group. He keeps them in good spirits and is a nice counter to Reed and his scientific stuff. He is Sue's brother so there is a great family dynamic going on there. He also has some of the coolest powers around. I always enjoy fire powers.

  • Thing is basically the strong outer walls of the group. He protects them from harm and takes the brunt of the beatings and just shrugs it off. I really respect him for being able to do that, and not just in battle but in life too. Thing is always around if you need him and thats why he is here.

  • Valeria I have come to enjoy from the FF books. She is super smart for someone as young as her. Seeing what she can accomplish is always cool. She seems to share the same dynamic as Stewie Griffin from Family Guy, in that one side of her is super intelligent and very much adult, but the other side of her is still a kid. She is definitely an interesting character.

  • Franklin has crazy powers. He can make a galaxy if he desires. He seems to be of a different dynamic, he is a kid with the powers of a god. Really a fun character.

    Franklin.

  • Strange is probably one of the most powerful magic users in comics. I always found it interesting that he was originally a surgeon but fate had something else in mind for him and he went on to become the sorcerer supreme. He is a great character and I enjoy his role in the Defenders.

  • IMPERIUS REX! Namor is the king of Atlantis, a defender, a renowned playboy and a X-man. When does he sleep? He is a cool character. I always enjoy his arrogance and how he feels superior to everyone. Plus its always funny to see how confident he is about being able to screw any woman he chooses.

  • The Surfer is awesome. I've always liked his look and powers. I like that he choose to serve Galactus in destroying other worlds just to save his own and more specifically his wife. I also enjoy that now that he is free from Galactus he chooses to help other across the galaxy. Really awesome character.

  • Betty Ross is Red Shulkie. I read about how she came to be and it was really interesting. I enjoy that she is pretty much a crazy version of Shulkie. I do like my crazy chicks. Her design and overall look is great. I just wish they gave her a better name. Red She hulk sounds silly. Enjoying her in the Defenders, even if she is slightly more sane now.

  • Mr. Rand is the Iron Fist. I enjoy that even though he is a disciplined and practiced master of martial arts, he doesn't take it super serious like you'd expect him too. He knows how to crack a joke. Enjoying him on The Defenders.

  • Started reading this series because of Black Cat. Not too shabby actually.

  • I used to watch the 90's Spider-man cartoon as a kid. For whatever reason I really like the character of Black Cat. Maybe it was a crush? I dunno but something about the character stuck with me. Felicia manages to be Spidey's on again off again love interest, but also a reformed criminal. That combined with the Femme Fatale appeal, makes for an awesome character.

  • This Tarantula is the awesome one. In Heroes for Hire she was a crazy chick who loved to maim and murder. Plus she looked like Jessica Alba according to my friend. WIN FOR ME!

  • Humbug is a character I'd probably have passe dup if I didn't read Heroes for Hire. His powers are actually pretty useful. And to think he used to be a B villain for Spider-man. Just goes to show you that people can indeed change.

  • Daredevil I never really cared for. I liked his movie believe it or not, but I never read anything with him as the star. I checked out a bit of Dan Slott's series with him and loved it. Daredevil is just a cool character with really interesting powers.

  • Scarlett Spider has one of the coolest costumes ever made.

  • Kaine is another character who was given a transformation. Its nice to see him pick up the mantle of Scarlet Spider, but also to be a hero instead of a villain who randomly shows up now and then. Really enjoying his series.

  • Moon Knight has an awesome design. That's why he is here. The fact he is crazy helps too.

  • Eddie Brock was a great Venom, but now it is Flash's turn. Ediie was the original and was great in his own right. Anti-Venom was a cool creation. I do like the fact that eddie beat Cancer, as I can relate with that. I also always enjoy reformed villains and anti-heroes. Lets see where he goes now that he has a new symbiote.

  • Magneto is awesome. His powers alone make him awesome. But the fact that he has to be one of the best villains ever makes him even more awesome. His whole backstory is very interesting. I would love to read it in more than just a summary one day. Also really cool that he is now reformed and is a member of the X-men. All he ever wanted was respect for his people, can't blame him for that.

  • I've come to like Mystique more recently then I did before. Her power lets her be anyone she wants, yet she often stays in her natural state. That right there sums up the respect I have for her. She is happy being herself.

  • Sabretooth is a cool villain. He is just a menace, and that's always cool to see. When you can counter Wolverine in the department of menacing, you are doing something right.

  • Nothing stops the Juggernaut. I admire the juggernaut for his awesome powers and his confidence in his own abilities. Plus he is awesome. Its always cool to see someone go up against him, you never know if they are gonna be able to withstand his power.

  • Hilarious in X-force. Seriously, I never cared for him much, but in X-force he is always yelling at everyone. I guess he knows they wouldn't hesitate to kill him, or put a tumor in his head. Yeah..

  • Deadpool is one of those characters you have to like. He breaks the 4th wall constantly, uses humor as a weapon and is pretty much an all around badass. What's not to like?

  • I used to have a toy of Caliban. I never knew who the heck he was, but his toy was cool. Now that I know who he is, I am glad I have that memory of him. He is a really neat character.

  • Sauron I like for his prehistoric design. I remember enjoying his run as a villain in the 90s X-men cartoon. I even have a toy of him somewhere from back then. I never read anything with him in it but he is a cool character.

  • Super-Skrull is a cool idea. Put all the powers of the Fantastic Four into one Skrull in order to overcome them. I always found him to be a cool character and I enjoy him in Marvel vs Capcom 3.

  • Taskmaster I came to know from MvsC3. He is a cool character though. His power to duplicate any move is very cool and would be incredibly handy to have. Plus his costume is awesome.

  • Loki is a great villain. The greatest villains are ones who have a strong emotional attachment to the hero. Loki is a perfect example of this. He is Thor's brother. The family dynamic represent through both Thor and Loki and Loki and Odin is always really interesting to see.

  • I have always had an interest in reptiles. The Lizard is a character I learned to love from the 90's Spidey cartoon. He has always been one of Spidey's coolest villains. The fact that Dr.Connors is a friend of Peter's also makes him really awesome. The fact that these two people who are friends become enemies when they assume their other roles is pretty cool to think about.

  • I always found Electro to just be a cool villain of Spidey's. Electric super powers are also really awesome.

  • If you where a kid in the 90's you know how cool Venom was. He is just like Spidey, but with the badass meter turned up to 11. Venom was Spider-man with out the moral compass. As a kid you tend to root for the bad guy just as much as you do the hero. So when Venom eventually became good, I think every kid loved him even more. Eddie Brock and Flash are the best Venom, with MacGargan as a runner up.

  • If Venom is the badass meter at 11, Carnage rips the knob off and punches a hole in it. Carnage was the most awesome character growing up. He is a serial killer with all the powers of venom. How cool is that? I remember reading the Maximum Carnage series as a kid and loving it. Sadly it hasn't aged well, but Carnage remains awesome.

  • Shriek I got to know through Maximum Carnage. I haven't seen her much since then, but I always liked her "Goth" like design and her powers are pretty awesome.

  • Doppel I began to like from reading Maximum Carnage. A Demonic version of Spider-man? Sign me up. Haven't seen him around lately.

  • As the Scorpion he was always one of my favorite Spider-man Villains. He was the twisted results of JJ trying to end the menace known as Spider-man once and for all. The funny thing is he created an even worse menace. As Venom I don't think he really fit. He was cool, but I always preferred him as the Scorpion.

  • Osborn is a monster. He makes a amazing villain. Its always cool to see the villains as well developed as the hero. What I always liked about him is he was always crooked and evil. It took the Goblin serum to bring that evil to the surface however. I always considered Green Goblin the Joker to Spider-man. Really awesome villain.

  • I used to get these Spider-man magazines. In them it had profiles of different characters. For Rhino it had a picture of him with the Hulk in a choke hold. The Hulk. That image alone always stuck with me when I think of Rhino. He may be a bit bland, but as far as being dangerous Rhino is up there with the best of them. Always cool to see Spidey fight someone who can take down the Hulk.

  • Vengenace I always liked his design. Don't know much about him sadly.

  • Galactus is the worst thing that can happen to your planet. I like that he is powerful enough to scare the most powerful people in the Marvel Universe and yet he flies around in a ship wearing that purple helmet. Galactus doesn't care if you think he looks silly, cause he is just gonna eat you and your planet.

  • Stegron is liked purely because he is a stegosaurus. Poor Stegron.

  • Doctor Doom is always a cool villain. I like the fact that he is a threat to not just the Fantastic Four, but anyone who crosses him. He is one of the best villains ever created I think. I also love that he talks in the third person at times. "Doom wants a chicken sandwich!"

  • Ultron is like the Frankenstein monster, if he was super smart and could calculate the exact way to defeat you. Ultron never dies, he'll always find a way to come back. That persistence makes him a constant threat. That also makes him a great villain. The Creator/creation dynamic at work with him is also very cool to see.

  • Moonstone was the stand in for Ms.Marvel on Osborn's Dark Avengers which is the main reason she is here. I enjoy her powers and would like to read more comics with her. Turns out she could have been a hero but chose to be a criminal instead. Very interesting.

  • Enchantress I grew to like from the avengers cartoon. Always trying to scheme something else. Very devious. The fact that she really just wants Thor's love is always interesting too. And yes she is hot.

  • MJ I've grown to enjoy more now that Kristen Dunst is done with her. I always liked that she would stand by Peter's side no matter what. Always a good thing to have in a partner. The whole "one more day thing" was dumb though.

  • Gwen Stacey is here because I enjoyed her in Ultimate Spider-man until the carnage thing. Oh and Emma Stone is playing her. Awesome. She needs to stay away from bridges though, and Norman Osborn for that matter.

  • Carlie is another of Peter Parker's former girl friends. She has a sarcastic attitude which I like. She's also a bit of a geek which is always refreshing, no offense to MJ.

  • Jaz is from the She-hulk series. She is a pretty awesome Skrull with a cool power beyond her Skrull transformation abilities. Also refreshing to see a friendly Skrull. Hopefully she shows up more often.

  • Pepper is here mainly because I enjoyed her in the movies. Yup. Apparently she has a suit of armor now too..so that's awesome..

  • Possibly on of the best graphic novels I have ever read. The Watchmen deals with tons of issues ranging from super hero identity crisis to Political issues. Definitely worth a read.

  • He reminds me of Batman, but he is so much more than that. Really cool character. I also love owls, so there that is.

  • Rorsharch is the only one of the characters who still wants to make a difference. I think by the end he does. But I won't spoil the ending.

  • Silk Spectre falls into the archetype of inheriting the costume. I can understand the pressures of being forced to follow a path you aren't sure if you want. Plus Malin Akerman is hot. So I just destroyed any logical point I was trying to make.

  • Batman is a awesome hero. I love the fact that he used the pain of his parents death to make himself stronger, instead of just moving on with his life he chose to step up and do something about it. I can really respect that. Plus the gadgets and the all around awesome atmosphere of the character makes him esaily one of my favorites.

  • Nightwing here is the original Robin. I read a little bit of his series and enjoyed it.

  • Tim Drake is another Robin. I'm enjoying his role in the Teen Titans of the New 52.

  • After seeing The Red Hood animated movie I came to like the Red Hood. I never cared much for Robin, but Red Hood is awesome. I'm enjoying his new book with the New 52 as well.
