@gorilla_girl: Sweet, I always love deadline extensions!
And voila.
There was gonna be a sweet background of the Gotham streets so I could claim they were out on a patrol, but I'm still not great with backgrounds. But I can still claim they are out on patrol.
Thanks for the extension Om1kron, I wouldn't have been able to submit a colored version without it. It's still sort of just a quickly colored piece but I think it looks better than the old one at any rate.
I'm still not perfect at scanning line art but it doesn't really scare me anymore... Also, plainclothes are so much harder to draw/shade/color than superhero costumes, haha.
@bio595: Hey! I also just recently got into comics and I've also been reading a lot of the New 52 Batbooks. Most of the stories take place around the same time. I kind of see them as happening in the "vague present," meaning that while the events of, say, Batman and Robin thus far may not occur during the events of Batman, the precise order doesn't really matter. So far the stories seem to stand on their own.
Right now Justice League and Detective Comics both take place in the past though. So there's that!

You don't have to worry about the other books,it won't matter and when it does then DC and writers themselves will give you the hint.
I've noticed in my limited comic ventures that this is pretty reliably the case. When creative teams feel you should read another series to get the whole story they will say "Go read Such and Such!" Even then it's often not that important anyways! I've been learning this the hard way, but I'd have to say it's good advice to just read what you want to read. Don't let those sneaky tie-ins force you into something lame!
When Batman LEAPS THE BATCYCLE OFF OF A MOVING TRAIN HEADFIRST INTO A HELICOPTER
I could not help but think..."This is awesome." But the rest was good too! It seems Snyder and Capullo are very good at delivering these kind of moments as well as the subtler intrigue of a Batman story.
