One thing I didn't understand when I first started reading comics and stopped reading novels was ... how come fans have so much control over these stories and characters? All the whinging and complaining about Stepanie Brown being killed off just as she became Robin; about Wonder Woman's new costume a year or so ago; about Dick Grayson becoming Batman (even Barbara Gordon becoming Batgirl again would be a good example). I've lived my life reading novels with stories that I have no control over. It's not like I can write to Stephanie Meyer and say "I don't like the way you portrayed Edward here, it needs to change or I won't buy your work". Becoming a fan of this industry and its characters, I've kind of tried to get used to it, but it's still a bit weird to me (three quarters of my life reading novels where what happens is what happens, no matter what I have to say). But at this point I'm just happy to hear that these companies main goal is to create fantastic stories, and that's what I'm going to look forward to.

I personally am a huge Catwoman fan, she is the entire reason I read comics, but (as much as it kills me to say this) I can't see her holding up her own game. Her role in Arkham City is fantastic. I love that she's finally getting some good exposure next to her animated short in the Batman: Year One movie and being played by Anne Hathaway in Dark Knight Rises.

It would also be great to see more of the women of the Batman family. Like actually SEEing Oracle, like Batman physically visiting her and needing her help in an investigation so we see her on-screen, or maybe he could even save her from danger or an attack of her headquarters (but knowing Babs, she wouldn't really need saving). Plus with Tim and Dick in the Arkham City Universe now, it would be great to see Cassandra as Batgirl and Kate Kane (not so much Batwoman cause I can't really see her being incorporated into this game's universe).

@someone042: That would be fantastic, and a person would think after the success of the God of War games that a Wonder Woman game would be pretty successful, especially if it has a bit of a different feel to the brutal and dark feel of God of War.

@Mega_spidey01
Silver Surfer and Deadpool have already been in live action movies, but I have heard Ryan Reynolds is going to do a solo Deadpool movie soon. I'd also love Carnage to be the badguy for the Venom movie, if they go ahead with it :)

Other than that I'm still holding out for a Dick Grayson movie! Hopefully something to portray his evolution from circus kid to Robin to Nightwing, just to reintroduce him to the world after Chris Nolan's Batman Begins/Dark Knight/Dark Knight Rises movies, and to get his character going. It kind of sucks that any other media other than the comics never get Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon passed being Robin and Batgirl :)

THE YOUNG AVENGERS!!!!!!!!

My DREAM is to have Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver finally be introduced into cinema, preferably to have something to do with Magneto and his fatherhood (or lack thereof) and have the Avengers Movie in 2012 be successful enough to have the movie makers consider a Young Avengers Movie. Already you have three fantastic potential storylines to use or take inspiration from for the movie:

  1. 1) Iron Lad and Kang the Conqueror (with the temporal distortions)
  2. 2) Hulkling's mixed ancestory (both the Skrulls and Kree)
  3. 3) And Wiccan and Speed's unusual ancestory (being Scarlet Witches' reincarnated sons and Magneto's grandsons)
  4. (But including the girls too, because hawkeye and Stature are two of my favourites!)

I've been a fan of Catwoman ever since I started collecting comic books, she was the reason I even started, and my all time favorite storyline is Batman: Hush. That to me has always been the perfect Catwoman costume, despite how much I loved the Batman Returns Movie. In recent years they've made tweaks and changes but nothing major except the whole unzipped view of cleavage (but being a guy, and being me, I don't actually mine that too much).

I basically agree with everything you've said except the cat ears. I do personally like them, just not ridiculously huge ears like The Batman cartoon series. If Batman can have pointed ears in Nolan's "realistic" version of Batman, then why can't Catwoman, even to a small degree. The goggles to me also feel like a very good choice because they reflect light in the dark, and when my pet cat is hiding in a dark room, that's usually the way I find him. The mental visual of that is very appealing to me, and feels very productive for Selina: running across rooftops and through alleyways (protecting her eyes from wind, as well as protecting her identity), or even to use for infrared or some other form of enhanced visual.

However, one more thing, up until this article, everything I'd read about Selina Kyle in the Dark Knight Rises movie made me assume we'd only see her civilian form, most likely before becoming Catwoman, just as a new love interest to replace the former girl. The best I could've hoped for would be a few quips or jokes alluding to her future here or there (a joke about disliking skintight leather, or a joke about a whip), but once again Comicvine have done it again with all the latest in comic news and information. I love this site!

As a fan more so of DC rather then Marvel, I guess I could give a good opinion from an outsider who doesn't known much about the Marvel Universe. The most iconic female I think from Marvel would be Storm, because alongside Elektra, Sue Storm and Jean Grey, she was the first person to appear in my mind. Not only that, in the 1996 DC vs Marvel series, she was the character the two companies mutually decided to fight Wonder Woman (DC's most recognizable and most powerful female character), and Wonder Woman actually lost against her.

Alongside the point above, personally Storm would have to be my favorite character in every incarnation of the X-Men television series, even in front of Wolverine, Magneto and Emma Frost. I think it would definitely be Storm.

My favourite power would have to be telekinesis. Imagine the potential of your brain expanded from only 10% to 80 or 90, granting you not only the ability of telekinesis, but forms of telepathy and empathy. You could move objects with your mind from a feather to a bus or truck (or even an entire building or mountain!). You could shoot telekinetic energy blasts and create various shields, from small personal shields to imitate invulnerability, to giant shields to protect an entire city or island from an explosion of radiation.

You could kill a person with a single thought, read their minds or attack them mentally, causing brain damage, intense headaches or even a coma or human mental vegetable. You could telepathically communicate with your allies and predict your enemies every attack or plan just by invading their minds. And this power is only extended with empathy to interperet their emotions.

With such an expanded mindset, you could plan for every variable up to fifty steps ahead of your enemies.  This single ability gives the possibility of various powers and abilities, and you could be practically invincible with enough practise and dicipline. This is definitely my choice!!!

"Not necessarily. As stated above, a hero that never encounters adversity is pretty dull. But with darker characters like Batman and Wolverine I've often viewed their sidekicks as a counter balance rather than "help". "
