@G-Man - Can You PLEASE answer a question that has been unanswered for over 30 yrs. When the SENTINELS made their Debut in X-Men #14 they were coloured (the recognised) Purple and Mauve BUT in #15 and #16 They Are Gold, Red andPurple - Was #14 a mistake - which they corrected in #15 and #16 - BUT Feedback was so great they decided to go with the Purple and Mauve when NEAL ADAMS introduced the MK II's.
Subsequently, 1994 to be precise - on the back cover of T.O.M.I.T.T. X-MEN - Sentinel is depicted in the Gold, Purple and Red AND in 1995 on the reprint of the ORIGINAL run, they are depicted Throughout in the Gold, Purple and Red - WAS this purely Nostalgia OR an Attempt to correct a 47 yr old Mistake.
There is Only ONE Survivor of the QUINtessencial team that worked on the Introductory story of the SENTINELS - Unfortunately the rigours of time have left Him unable to shed any light on the mystery.
Dammit - Have I answered my own question ?!?
