@batkevin74

About the capitals... I don't know really it's something I've started to notice a lot recently and it's starting to freak me out... kinda like the ellipses I keep using.

Thanks. I think that after seeing your best friend getting beaten half to death a smart person would probably advise against them going out into action again.

Sure I'll send you a PM now.

My apartment looks better then when I was living here... which says a lot once you realize it's been destroyed twice in the last year. The first and most obvious one being during the Great Impact, thankfully I didn't live here at the time, unluckily another family did... they must have been terrified when that huge chunk of space debris smashed through their roof before causing the building around them to start to crumb-

Wait... that's a bit too depressing. In case you haven't been paying attention recently, my name's Mark Brooks... and I'm a goddamn superhero.

"Dad?" My baby daughter Daisy calls from the swanky new kitchen. "We're out of milk." Oh dear god not this again...

"...I'm not going to be able to get it this time, hon." I tell her, the time on my watch says 9:47 PM. "I'm heading out." My target is Richard Garrison. He'll be arriving at Donna Tori's mansion in about 13 minutes, that said mansion is a half hour drive away, it should take two minutes if I'm in a rush. I head towards my wardrobe and pull my new costume off its hanger. Granted I could probably just teleport it on and it would be faster... but pulling it on just feels better. It fits pretty nicely, it's not too heavy and (luckily) it has a hood.

At least I won't have to tear my own coat apart this time. I'm busy posing in the mirror when a knock on the door catches me by surprise. Looks like my babysitter's early... which is kinda weird really. I teleport over to the entrance and pull the door open to see my... 'friend' Snipes standing in the hallway. In the weeks its been since I last saw him he's changed quite a bit. His beard's been shaved, he no longer reeks of alcohol and for once I don't confuse him with a homicidal maniac upon first glance. The wonders of a Retirement Home are lost on me.

"So you're alive?" Snipes asks as he barges into the room.

"Rumors of my death were greatly exaggerated." I comment. He nods at me slowly before glancing around the room.

"You haven't got any booze have ya?" He asks.

"I don't drink. Mostly." I point out. He sighs and shakes his head slightly. "So, I'll be gone for a few hours." I tell him. "Three at the most. There's Ice Cream in the fridge, Daisy can stay up as long as she wants tonight since it's the weekend an-"

"How are you even thinking about going out?!" Snipes interrupts. "Do you remember that beating you took?!"

"...What?!" I'm too surprised to answer straight away. "...What?!" Or after it seems.

"I was scared for you Mark." Snipes slumps onto the leather settee and glares at me with his old, withered eyes. "That psycho came into your house and mopped the floor with you... you almost died... in fact you only survived because he was under explicit orders to let you live! If he wasn't you'd be like that kid he killed... he almost killed you Mark..." He mutters. "And now you're going back out there?!"

"...Snipes..." I say. "The guy I'm going after... he helped kill Mary."

"I doubt she'd want you risking your own life to avenge her."

"He doesn't have anything to do with the assassins!" I shout, before I can continue I'm interrupted by something gripping the side of my waist. I look down to see Daisy wrapped around me giving a huge, loving hug.

"Dad..." I kneel before her and see tears rolling down her cheeks. "Please don't go..." When I first put this costume on, Daisy was completely fine with me risking my life on a daily basis. Now she's scared I'll walk out onto the street on my own. I throw my arms around her back and hug her in return. "I don't want you to die..."

"I'm not going to die Daisy..." I tell her before standing up. "I promise you I won't." I pull the back of my hood up over my head. "...and I know this isn't going to change your mind in the slightest... but I have to do this."

I teleport out of there before either of them can convince me not too. I reappear a few blocks away on top of a Water Tower before porting once more to see the most beautiful building I've seen in awhile.

From the view of this Apartment Complex it must feel like you're living across from the White House... the place is fenced off from the public and its exterior covered in sleek white marble, Donna Tori's mansion is by far the nicest thing that Indigo City has when it comes to visuals... which means the lady must have been insane to have chosen to have chosen this stinkhole to be her new port of call. Detroit or New Jersey would have been better options.

The Toris are a family that go back generations, they're notorious with the Upper Class for their fantastic Charity Events... and notorious with the Lower Class for their various Underworld Connections, however that's not really why I'm here tonight. Inside that building at this very second is one of the monsters that killed my wife... and I'm not sure what I'm going to do to him once I get my hands on him. I summon a gust of wind that propels me through the air and onto the Mansion's roof, a few security cameras lie attached to the walls. I generate a small teleportation portal into the device's wires tearing them from the wall.

The reason I'm acting so secretive and careful right now isn't because I'm worried what the public will think if they see the World's Greatest Hero attacking a 'peaceful' banquet, I couldn't care less about that... but what I don't want is to tick off Director Pfeifer of the CBTF. If he finds out this is all my fault it won't look good on my monthly paycheck. Next up on my metaphorical list are the Security Guards, as I propelled over the gate I counted 10. The first one being directly below me patrolling the grounds. I leap from the roof before slowing my descent with a silent gust of wind before silently landing in the grass.

The guard is around 5 inches ahead of me... but surprisingly he doesn't seem to notice me, before he gets the chance to I send a gust of wind sleeping right under his legs before sending a blast of wind directly into his chest sending him straight into the floor. I stealthily dash past his unconscious body and teleport behind another guard before sending a gust of wind into the back of his head causing him to smash his head on the floor. If you're a Security Guard I guess there isn't really much you can do if a Carrier like me decides to pay a visit. After a few minutes have passed all the Guards patrolling the grounds have been taken out and are currently lying on the ground with blood dripping from their noses.

I teleport next to the wall separating me from the Dining Area and hear the sound of people inside, a sleek black truck is parked right next to me. It seems to be one of those Surveillance Trucks that they usually use in the movies for monitoring conversations. A quick check on the inside tells me that nobody is trying to hide in there. I shut the door and look around to see if there's an easy way into the place... preferably one that doesn't involve me crawling through the sewers.

As I glance around I hear a rustling behind me... and then the sound of a gun clicking. I turn as quickly as I can, the guard who was trying to sneak up on me fires his gun. I send a blast of wind directly towards him however it's a bit off target... as was his aim with the gun. The bullet whips by my shoulder but luckily my wind blast hits him in the chest knocking him to the ground. Unluckily the rest of my pretty powerful blast hits the Surveillance Truck sending it flying through the air and causing it to smash through the paper thin marble wall. It takes me a second to realize I may have just killed everyone inside.

"Oh sh!t..." I mutter under my breath. "OH SH!T!" I shout before sprinting towards the Truck shaped hole as fast as I can. Just as I'm about to look through the smashed marble the Truck that I've JUST sent tumbling into the dining room gets sent flying straight back out through the Mansion's roof and lands on the other end of the garden. "What the h-" I teleport into the room and end up standing atop of the dinner table. The Patrons all stare at me before starting to scream... I feel my foot sinking into the mashed potatoes. "-ell?!" The people scream at me... Security starts shuffling them out of the room... however I don't see Richard Garrison anywhere. I've seen pictures of him. I watched a video interview with him via Google earlier... and he's nowhere to be seen. Before I can start searching for the ever loving, blue eyed psychopath I feel an invisible force seemingly grip me and rise me into the air and smashing me against the wall. I try to break free of the invisible being's hold however its grip is almost unbreakable.

"You stupid, stupid ba$tard." A voice mutters under his breath. I look around desperately to see a man that looks like he takes 50 steroids a day looking up at me. He seems to be concentrating... and his eyes are locked directly on me. That's when I realize... he could be one of those Assassins that have been kicking my a££ recently... "What the hell were you thinking?! Whatever it was, you CERTAINLY weren't doing MUCH of it at all!" He yells at me causing several of the glasses on the dinner table to break. I struggle to move... however an idea pops into my mind... followed by me popping out of the man's reach and reappearing across the room from him. The man glances around before noticing me and glaring in surprise.

"I get that often..." I give off a nervous chuckle. Quipping... quipping makes me feel better. "Who the hell are you?" I ask him. Every single pointy object in the room rises into the air and points directly at me.

"...I'm the guy you shouldn't tick off." He says coldly. I can tell that in any second all those knives and forks are going to shoot directly at my soft parts... the man's eyes turn a dark color... and I'm tempted to run for my dear life.

"...and you've done just that..." He growls.

To be continued!

I really like this series... it's just nice how it ties everything all together and shows that this all clearly takes place in the same City.

Seems nice that the Quoll is getting a Holiday! His interaction with the Two Cops was pretty nice as well. Overall it's a good Chapter however I think he was able to take care of the two Assassins a bit too easily.

I am looking forward to Suicide Squad. I think that could be an amazing Self Contained Movie and I'm fine with Margot playing Harley since I remember watching Wolf of Wall Street and thinking, "Wow. She'd be a really good actor for Harley Quinn..." and I love Deadshot (who I would prefer to be on the team instead of Deathstroke) and I'm kinda alright with Lex Luthor possibly being on the Team... however I don't want the Joker to be in it. I'm sorry I just don't think it works.

The reason I don't want Deathstroke on the Squad is because I think he's a bit too OP and would probably take up the whole show instead of letting the lesser known (yet still amazing Characters) have their day. I also think that DC has a bit of an advantage on Marvel in that they're not owned by Disney and are owned by Warner Bros. Which means they are capable of making 18 Rated Movies... and they also own the rights to ALL of their Characters.

@johnjo719

Sorry, did I not call him Maskless in the story? He's the guy who got captured in the Parked Car Pyramid.

Also what was the name of the Prison? I have plans to use it.
