Like The Flash Volume 1 (1940) ?

I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you are a tremendous fan of the character and are willing to put up with the different style with which comics were written back then. There's a lot of cheese and you have to put yourself in an old-timey, nostalgic mindframe.

That said, if you're a Flash fan I think the Flash Rebirth title by Williamson coming out in a few months has potential.

I like a lot of these characters but not sure that they could sustain series on their own.

Anyhoo I picked Etrigan because I feel like I'm one of the few fans of this character, gotta represent.

Swamp Thing cause you just gotta love him.

And Red Robin, because I just feel bad for Tim and how's he's gotten shafted hard. He didn't deserve Lobdell D':

I had a buddy who tried getting me into ”normal” comic books, but I was all like, ”No one is having sex or killing each other. This isn’t really doing it for me.” I was a little broken, that way. So when Watchmen came along, I was, ”This is more my scene.”

This is why many Superman fans want him away from the character.

I don't mind Bruce having a successor, but I think he should be the first Batman and his mantle shouldn't be overtaken by a retcon.
