Well.. He certainly has the physical strength.. .BUT.....

A) Data -  is faster and has the strength to pull Chewbacca's arms off.

B) Jason X -  Sure Chewbacca could pull Jason X's arms off... But it'd grow back anyway.

C) Zangief - no idea who this is

D) Spider-Man -  Spider-man is MUCH faster and much stronger than Chewbacca.  Remember, Spider-man can lift 20 to 30 THOUSAND Pounds...  and has a reaction time about 40 times faster than the average human...  Chewie isn't likely to even touch Spidey.

E) Krang (robotic body) -  If Chewie could grab him then he could definitely rip Kang's arms off.

F) Darth Vader -  Only if he could grab him, which.... Isn't likely.

G) Elder Predator - No idea who this is.

H) Blade - Only if he could grab him.... and THIS is a fight I wouldn't mind seeing!!!

I) T-800/T-X  -  Isn't this a calculator?

J) Borg Drone - Absolutely!!!!

@Timandm:Good point. Though Wanda did get told off :p

True, but not by the Avengers... She got an invitation from the Avengers and a firm 'telling off' from the X-Men (minus Wolverine)

Define 'high durability'

does it include 'immutability' ?

Nah, durability in the sense in the sense i'm defining refers to mostly resistance/very difficult to manipulate. I highly doubt any herald level character or most characters possess immutability to molecular manipulation.

Consider Galactus manipulating the atoms of Superman ( which i'm sure he can)

Than of to Doctor Manhattan Manipulating the atoms of Supmerman ( which is questionable)

Dr. Manhattan is more powerful than Galactus?

that actually would have been a really interesting continuation of the story. an intelligent, politically charged fallout to AvX. I really like the ideas you put forth.

I would actually like to see this go before the world court the way Magneto's case did back in the 80s...

I completely agree; Tony messed with something he shouldn't have, knowing little of the possible repercussions of his actions. It wasn't Emma/Scott's fault that the Phoenix decided to use them as hosts, and they shouldn't be blamed for their actions (isn't that one thing that they should have learned by now? The Phoenix twists people.) Good post :)

I get the impression that committing crimes while under the influence of some cosmically powerful entity, is excusable IF AND ONLY IF you are an Avengers....  Allow me to post a few incriminating images.

How many people did this guy kill?
How much property damage did he call?
See any arrest warrants?
Is he being hunted by Captain America?
OH WAIT!  He's one of the people helping Cap hunt down Cyclops and Emma.

How about this lady?  See any warrants for HER arrest?                                                this

 Hawkeye  - murdered.
Vision        - murdered.
Scott Lang - murdered.
Lots of Mutants - Depowered and many murdered...
So, is she under arrest?  Nope,  she's an AVENGER.

 How about THIS guy?
No Caption Provided
How many buildings did he knock down?
How many people did he kill?
Did Cap arrest Ben Grimm?
Well of course not!  Ben is an Avenger!  (New Avenger to be specific)

But if you're not an Avenger, then you're not innocent when an overwhelming power takes control of you.

How their actions can be justified is beyond me. If only Superman were present to give him a moral and physical ass kicking. Now that would make me happy.

They can be justified because Cap has been struck with the tyrant hammer upside the head and has been acting like a dumb*** recently. His actions grant justification to theirs. That and the fact that their arguments hold water: Iron Man DID break the Phoenix, resulting in it overwhelming them, which EVERYONE knew it would do. Worse, they're relying on a double standard here: The Scarlet Witch was possessed as well, killed TWO Avengers, and is now one of their new teams. The Five got possessed, ENDED WORLD HUNGER (briefly) and caused almost no casualties. The one casualty they DID cause, was only a result of the Avengers attacking the Five, narrowing the power, which again, they KNEW would overwhelm the last user, until said last user went insane and killed ONE person.

And because Iron Man put together how to destroy the Phoenix and restore mutantkind (which, I might add, would have happened naturally HAD HE DONE NOTHING TO BEGIN WITH. Though that's understandable, it's just bad in hindsight.) he considers him debt free, while Scott and his mutants are still evil for being possessed.

It's all just causing the Avengers to come off as stupid.

Incidentally, if Superman were present, he'd probably help Scott and Emma: They're mutants in a world where they're hated and feared. They're trying to get by in whatever way they can while constantly being attacked. Being an alien, Superman can understand that feeling of isolation and fear: It's the reason he doesn't wear a mask, because he doesn't want anyone to be afraid of someone with his amount of power. Not to mention Superman, with all his power, is terrified of being controlled and having that power let loose. He'd understand Scott and Emma going through something like that, and wouldn't blame them for it, even if a casualty was caused. He's far more likely to whip the Avengers in this case.

... Rant over.

Sir... I find your rant to be perfectly sensible, relevant, and well said...  However, because of the limit in storage space in comic vine, I'm only going to give you 2 or 3 months to finish this rant!!!
WELL FREAKING SAID!!!!

@Onemoreposter: Yes, I think AvX was a situation where the writers had to have one side act..um...out of character so that they could force a fight...  Can you imagine if Cap and company would have showed up and said,
"Scott, I know Utopia is a sovereign nation and we have no legal authority here.. and no crime has been committed... But the Phoenix Force is coming for Hope and it's a serious threat.  Would you mind if we stayed here on Utopia and guarded Hope just in case things go wrong?  Maybe our big brains would work with YOUR big brains to develop a contingency plan in case anything goes wrong?"

@ptigrusmagus
yeah, if  Hawkeye could have left it at, "Yeah, you know you did actually break the phoenix and..."  it would have been kewl...
And Cap...sigh... I used to love Cap.  Who didn't?  But he's become a facist...  He goes anywhere, and I mean ANYWHERE in the world acting as if he has legal authority....  He is a citizen of the U.S....  He's a member of a U.S. law enforcement agency...  His Jurisdiction is contained within the borders of the U.S....  Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only one who appreciates the irony of the man who fought Hitler, going around the world forcing his will on others with no legal authority.....

Nick Jr. is a plot device to give the world an African American Nick Fury like in the movie..  But all in all, I think it's working...
