As a self contained piece I thought the Helena Kyle story was great. However the ending was a bit unfortunate and didn't put Catwoman in a terribly positive light. That particular Catwoman should have rode off into the sunset with her daughter, only to return without her later, with a damn good excuse for doing so.
I'm pretty sure some of you guys wouldn't buy a Catwoman comic no matter who wrote it.
I actually have bought the Brubaker issues, they're fantastic. It's just that Catwoman is usually a c-tier series, and they don't bother putting actual talent on it because fans of the character will buy it no matter what, because boobs. So, actually, pretty much exactly the opposite of what you're saying.
No, I'm pretty sure some of these people still wouldn't buy it if it had an A-list creative team.
I'm indifferent. I had a very different reaction to the zero issue than most.
@Brazen_Intellect: Nolan was a relative no-name with one notable movie under his belt when he made Batman Begins.
I've enjoyed every interpretation of Catwoman up until the new 52, give or take a few hitches like Bronwyn Carlton. I am looking forward to Geoff Johns' take on her with cautious optimism.
