In Watchmen the distinction between the good guys and bad guys is debatable, so its unclear on whether good or evil won.
 
I would also mention the Marvel Mangaverse, it ends with a massacre of almost all superpowered beings.

To me hes an example of a man who overcomes tragedy (the death of his son, loss of his hand, death of his best friend etc) instead of letting it overcome him. That and hes not as campy as first impressions would have you believe. Unless its his really early stuff.

Hunter presumably kills people by breaking their necks or some bizzare time travel based ability. 

Thawne (like any Flash) can increase his own mass as he speeds up, with no limit on how fast he can go there is also no limit on his speed. 
 
Zoom (Zolomon) manipulates his own personal timeline, and he slows down time around him, effectivley draining the speed right out of the Flash.
 
Only Thawne could survive a punch from Superman, by dispersing the kinetic energy once he was struck.
 
The rest, like which is better is up for personal interpretation.

Plus I think X Factor has all the right kind of drama, less aliens and full scale war, more intricate plots and interesting relationships.
