My New Avengers team

Having observed the recent New Avengers series, it could be argued that the series is suffering from a serious lack of new blood.  Are you tired of seeing wolverine/Spiderman/Steve Rogers in every team? If so, then read on for my list of possible 'new avengers':  My inspiration largely came from the x-men 'blue' and 'gold' teams of the 90s, where one large team could split into smaller task forces depending upon the issue in hand (this makes sense considering the Avengers' status as an international team).

  1. Tyrus Krill

  (Bravo team)A short lived Monster Hunter who appeared in the Wolverine 2000 annual, Krill would provide an interesting take on the dual role of scientist/warrior questing to avenge his family. His dour demeanor would be moderated by Starfox, with both members forming a camaraderie based upon their extraterrestrial origins.

  2. Starfox

  (Bravo team)Excellent when written by Dan Slott, would play the role of womanizer and comic relief, though this would be resented by the female members of the team.

  3. Prodigy

  (Alpha team)Glad to see this guy getting the attention he deserves; he could make A-List status if given a chance. Would be the team's strongman.

• 

  4. Diamondback

  (Alpha team)Another character who deserves to progress from the initiative and attain the spotlight. With her link to Captain America she could provide the team with official state support from steve rogers and combat experience. Could fulfill a leadership role (This would be resented by both Prodigy and Starfox).

  5. Scarlet Witch

  (Alpha team)Powerhouse and wild card. Would aid the team with her magic and probability altering powers on her path to redemption.

  6. Kitty Pryde

  (Bravo team)Support and provides a link with the x men. Adds spunk and would serve as the team's morale booster. DOES NOT GET ON WITH THE SCARLET WITCH (its a house of M thing).

  7. Dominic Fortune

  (Bravo team)Part of the original retconned Avengers team (Bendis again), Fortune would serve as an intriguing part time member of the team and a mentor to the younger members (particularly Prodigy. Gets on well with fellow soldier protocide, though his life experience makes him apprehensive regarding Marnot's true motives.

  8. Blue Marvel

  (Bravo team, part time member)Noble powerhouse, Blue marvel would act as this team's Sentry. Would get on well with Dominic Fortune (both come from older generations).

  9. Marnot

  (Free agent) An odd choice, but he could be behind the formation of this new Avengers' team, acting on behalf of Odin to assemble a force capable of combating threats to Asgard, a truth only perceived by the Scarlet Witch. Arch manipulator.

  10. Protocide

  (Alpha team) experienced super-soldier and valued team member, though he may need to change his alias. Provides experience and skill, though he would crumple against top tier hand to hand fighters (it has been stated that he is stronger, but less skilled than steve rogers). Operates under the guidance of Diamondback (who also reports back to Rogers).
