@turoksonofstone: TDKR is NOT the main dcu. It is an elseworlds tale by frank miller, In which Frank can do whatever he wants.

@U R Sofa King We Todd Did:
nah, DC will never lose supes.
1. They need him. Ultimately, the WB will pay as much as they need to.
2. Man of Steel was pushed back to 2013. This was due to the lawsuit. If WB didn't release a superman movie by the end of 2012, the rights would revert back to the schuster/siegel estates. The fact that the movie was pushed back to 2013 may be a sign that WB is FINALLY patching things up with the estates of the creators.

@Gold Dust Boi: I'm right with you bud. I'm also looking forward to the new DCU.
Despite what the pessimists say, this is a great place to start. Long time fans seem to have some gripes, but they'll get over it. The same thing happened in 1985 after crisis on infinite earths. Hardcores were upset but eventually got over it, and DC got a bunch on new readers.
So far as I can tell, this reboot is doing exactly what DC hoped it would. People who would not ordinarily buy DC comics are suddenly interested.

@theqman121: as the mod said, picking up DC Comics: The New 52 from your store is a pretty good idea.
Still, you might be confused as far as the characters with more than one ongoing series. Allow me to help :)  Here are some suggestions:

Superman- Action Comics by Grant Morrison & Rags Morales
Batman- Batman by Scott Snyder & Greg Capullo
Green Lantern- Green Lantern by Geoff Johns and Doug Mahnke

Those should help, assuming you only plan to follow one series from those characters.

The two main characters that are going mainly unchanged by the reboot are Green Lantern and Batman. They have some continuity behind them that you may wish to catch up on. It's not too serious, I managed to get filled in on GL without too much trouble :) PM me if you'd like help.
Still, the whole point of the reboot is to make it accessible for new readers, so you should be okay going in blind. The Bats and GL books should fill you in okay.

Bats has never REALLY whipped Supes. Supes could flatten Batman in .01 of a second.
Thing is, that Supes always holds back, at least in the real DCU. But yeah, Lee's art in that picture is great!

@Joe_Amazing: I'm a little apprehensive, but over all looking forward to it. I wasn't a monthly reader. i mainly followed trades. I've been collecting Johns' GL in trade form, as well as various others.

For me it's an opportunity to get into the monthlies.
I don't like that they've basically demoted John Jones to a small role, and I'm still waiting to hear what's happening with Captain Marvel.
I understand your feelings of betrayal, but I encourage you to give it a chance. And remember, the new 52 is only the beginning. New series well be added later. Plus, not all the new books will be successful. Ultimately, some will be cancelled, and eventually replaced by different (hopefully better) books. The fact that JSA and Power Girl aren't there now doesn't mean they are dead.

@Rabbit Tots: i'm 17, and I only read comics. I'm open to manga, but I'm just not into it.
I've also noticed the absence of young readers. I go to a relatively small high school of about 200 kids. There are literally only 3 people that regularly read comics (including myself), with maybe 8-10 that have EVER read a comic. There really should be more......
maybe this is why DC is relaunching.
