I guess I'm in the minority that can see Dwayne easily playing Lobo. He has the physicality, the attitude, the quirky facial expressions, and charisma for Lobo. Plus I loved him in the Attitude Era of WWE. He was so good on the mic.

I'm a huge Lobo fan, I would have loved to see Kevin Durand, or Mickey Rourke if he was younger. JDM already played The Comedian... So I wouldn't really want to see him play Lobo.

Plus Rock will have a semi-built in crowd. Just hope they get the script right for this. Regardless if it is PG-13. They can still make it work. (Lobo episodes of S:TAS were some of my favorite Lobo moments.)

Rumors are Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be playing Lobo.

At first I didn't like this, but now thinking about it, it could be the perfect choice for Lobo.

After watching some clips of The Rock from his WWE days, he totally acts like Lobo. He definitely has the physique, and he can easily nail the facial expressions of Lobo (if you see the way The Rock cock his eyebrows... It's a lot like Lobo.)

It also makes sense he would be a top choice to play Lobo. Brad Peyton (who directed Mysterious Island 2.) has previously worked with The Rock, and The Rock recently tweeted he was possibly going to play a DC character. It all seems plausible.

As a Lobo fan, I'm totally cool with this. Even though it will probably be rated PG-13, it can work. They did an amazing job with Lobo in "Superman: The Animated Series" so I'm not really concerned with the rating.

Lobo is probably going to be a lower budget than the likes of The Flash & Wonder Woman. A lot lower budget.

I could also see WB thinking of not giving them their own separate films, instead introduce them in a Justice League film, then if it does well, spawn solo spin-off films from the JL movie. That's to say, if they are even thinking about doing a JL film.

Here's Deadline's Report on it:

"Brad Peyton, who helmed the global hit Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, has just been set by Warner Bros to rewrite and direct Lobo, the live-action film based on the DC Comics franchise. Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are producing.

Lobo is an alien that works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. Introduced as a hardened, rarely used hard-boiled villain in the 1980s, the character remained in limbo until his revival as an anti-hero biker in the early 1990s, when he became on of the most popular characters in the DC Comics stable. Peyton is repped by Verve and Piekoff Law."

This came as a surprise to me. Been waiting for a Lobo film to happen. Although I have a feeling it'll be PG-13... I'm okay with it. As long as it's a fun/ridiculous film. I'm all good with it.

And my pick to play Lobo in the film is Kevin Durand... He's gotta do it! :)

Kevin Durand easily. He would do it perfectly, IMO. I love that guy, very underrated actor. Theirs some interesting picks on here. Amazed no one mentioned Jeffery Dean Morgan (The Comedian) I wouldn't really want him to be Lobo, though.

Lobo needs more love. I just watched his two parter episode in "Superman: The Animated Series" they did a great job with his characterization in a kids' show. I managed to watch his appearance in the Justice League cartoon as well. Good stuff.  I hope we see a Lobo movie (animated or live action) someday. And I'm hoping Lobo isn't being left out of the relaunch, because that would fraggin' suck.  I think Paramilitary Christmas Special is probably the best Lobo comic book there is. Maybe "Lobo's Back" Although I do love his first mini-series "The Last Czarnian" quite a bit.  I wish they'd put out more Lobo graphic novels from the early/mid 90's, like all the parodies they did (Lobocop, for instance.)

Lobo is just awesome.

Good question, I'd like to know also. I haven't heard anything about Lobo, The Question, Or Wally West. I hope these characters aren't being left out. I vaguely remember them saying some characters won't be in the universe at all. I would hope none of the characters I mentioned are being left out. I dunno about him being a Red Lantern full time, I'd rather Lobo just be himself. I wish they'd give him a new mini-series or something. Maybe bring back Alan Grant/Keith Giffen/Simon Bisley for it. I don't think anyone else's work on Lobo has been that great. Especially the way they've been drawing him as of recently. *shudders*

I believe Lobo was suppose to have an animated short, but WB/DC scraped the animated shorts thing, which fraggin' sucks. That would have been awesome to see. I hope one day we get a Lobo movie, animated or live action. (Kevin Durand would be the best pick for Lobo, IMO.)  I do hope they address some of these characters shortly, though.
