Top 10 Worst Movie Adapted Comic Book Characters

For every well adapted character in a Super Hero movie there is always "those" characters that the filmmakers either try to adapt, or just don't even try to make them resemble anything like their comic book counterparts. Keep in mind, this list is not limited to only Heroes or Villains it can be any kind of character from a Super Hero Movie. Keep in mind this list is limited to only the Comic Book characters that I know and have been disappointed with their onscreen portrayals. So, let's get started...

List items

  • ...from Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer.

They didn't even try with this guy, so Galactus from FF4 2 gets the number one spot. He was a cloud...A FRIGGIN' CLOUD!!!

  • ...from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

When I saw Nolan North as Deadpool, cutting people up and giving funny one-liners I loved it all, but like The Mandarin, it felt that they deliberately took away one of the best factors of the film, just to have the typical "final boss" fight of the film. They took away his mouth, his voice, gave him really stupid powers like Cyclops' optic beams and turned him into some stupid looking Ninja when I felt as though they had perfectly adapted Deadpool.

  • ...from Iron Man 3.

When I first saw Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin, he was chilling, it felt as though I was literally watching a real terrorist and his voice was awesome. I was so looking forward to how things would come between Iron Man and The Mandarin, but then Trevor happened. This twist was just so damn stupid, it's as though Shane Black deliberately took away one of the best factors of the movie just for a cheap joke, that not only destroyed the tone for me but also took away that large threat I felt throughout the movie.

  • ...from Spider-Man 3.

I've stated before that I'm not the biggest fan of Venom, in fact apart from his physical appearance, I think he's rather boring. Although when I heard he was going to be in Spider-Man 3, I was really hyped to see him onscreen, imagine all the visual possibilities with something like this, but all we got was Eric Forman with Vampire teeth making a quick 10 minute cameo at the end.

  • ..from Batman and Robin.

Mr. Freeze is one of Batman's most tragic and interesting villains, once again, Schumacher had the "bright" idea of making him an annoying, pun giving headache and Arnold's acting did not make him any better.

  • ...from the Fantastic Four 1 & 2.

Dr. Doom. THE Marvel villain. An enemy to all characters in the Marvel Universe, a master of sorcery, tech genius, possibly the smartest person on the planet and a ruler of his own country. In the movie, a Norman Osborn ripoff with powers that are incredibly lame. The hammy performance doesn't help much either.

  • ...from 2003 Hulk.

Hulk is a film that not only fails in realizing the idea of the Hulk, but also turns his character into an "Emo crybaby" (those are the only words I know how to describe him) who only felt angry at his Dad. This was not the Hulk, it was more like a 6 year old having a temper tantrum.

  • ...from Batman and Robin.

Bane was nothing more than a Hulk wannabe in Schumacher's crap fest and yet he was somehow more faithful to the Hulk's character than our next listed character.

  • ...from X3.

He was nothing more than a one-note joke.

  • ...from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films.

When it comes to the Raimi/Spider-Man movies most of the casting was either O'k or great. Where Raimi did drop the ball though was M.J. I'm sorry, but Kirsten Dunst was terrible in this role. She was not the flirty tough party-girl she was in the Comics and instead was turned into the generic love interest who was just there just to be the Damsel in Distress, which definitely lands her a spot on this list.
