who is he?...i recently saw a game trailer of super hero squad n it featured a character called the dark surfer,...only thing setting him apart from the silver surfer is that hes glossy black n is wearing the infinite gauntlet.

Today a thought came to my mind, What if their were no heroes! would us humans be defenseless against the more realistic villains you read about? Although we clearly would have just about no luck with titanic villains like Doomsday , Onslaught or even Malebolgia,
none of they would of made a appearance ( or at least continued too) if it weren't for the so proclaimed "Hero" . And if we are to have to go on living with characters such as The Joker or Red skull
, would we one way or the other be able to defend our selves from villains such as these?
What do YOU think the level of self defense as a society can WE bring to the table without calling in for the web slinging, high flying heroes of today?
Some times when i mention a character to a friend whom knows plenty of comics, they go blank. have you ever read a comic about what ever character that isn't necessarily from Marvel and if you mention it to some one there like, Who?, for instance i was chatting to some family members who are just as comic crazy as I and i said you ever heard of Lobo?
, n shes says, i think so. how about Tankgirl?....and so it also was another blank, so i gatta say has this happened to you if so with what character or comic.
