I know I'm being snippy; it's just..... I used to think Vader and Palpatine were SO cool. Vader had the cool helmet and voice; Palpatine was so leet he didn't even bother carrying a lightsaber.

Now Vader is forever branded in my mind as a whiny emo brat and apparently Palpatine is running around at faster than light speeds and mind-jacking billions of people at once. And I know this is just my personal problem, but that is about the quickest way to kill my interest in a character. It's the same reason I don't read the Hulk anymore.

How 'bout this; since Palpatine seems to be the main threat, maybe Zatanna, J'onn, and Hal work together to jam their psychic-ness. Superman snipes Palpatine from orbit with heat vision. Zatanna and the rest immediately use their magical and psychic powers to contain Palpatine's "essence" (ugh), while the rest of the JL, decked out in psychic blocking tech, go to work on the rest.

Alternately, given the JLA/Avengers crossover, could Zatanna just summon up the frickin' Infinity Gauntlet or cosmic cube and smoke the lot of them with a thought?

See, this is where these debates always start to break down for me.

So it's perfectly believable that Jango Fett, a bounty hunter with some fancy armor, can take out Jedi. Even though, apparently according to the EU, Sith and Jedi are so EPIC that they can take out whole planets by picking their noses. (Geez, the frickin' EU. I swear it's done as much damage to Star Wars as George Lucas himself.)

But anyway, Jango can waste Jedi just fine, but the most powerful superteam on the planet which contains more than one literal genius, hasn't a chance? For the DCU, power dampening and psychic protection technology has been a reality since forever. I mean, the JL has faced guys like Darkseid and the Anti-Monitor.

No, its not. Cause every fight is different. And just cause in that particular fight Cap was somehow stupid enough to fall for the "hey, look over there" trick, that doesn't hold true for better written stories.

Batman, Cass, and Captain America have all been in video games. I THINK Shiva was, but I can't think of it, so I withdraw that one. Iron Fist was in a game too, but I disqualified him.

Also because Clone Troopers showed up. And apparently they have the ability to nullify all those cool force powers since they were taking out master jedi by basically going "hey, look over there" and then shooting them in the back. >:(

Eh, I don't have any hard and fast rules. Basically I just try to use logic and pick out the stuff that isn't contradicted elsewhere. Maybe that makes me not an actual Christian.... I really don't know. That's your call, I guess. I've always felt that religion is such a personal thing that trying to have a strict definition for it in general and separate denominations in particular is a useless exercise. But that's just me.

And good counterpoint on the baby thing. Like I said, it was just some theory that popped in my head once. Mainly it was to demonstrate the acres in difference between how we view the world and how people centuries ago did.
