Good review. I agree with a lot of what you said, and think there's a lot of potential with this new direction. I am a little nervous about it too, but I trust Dan Slott to follow him into this new adventure.

Nice that you got a signed copy!

Quite possibly the two panels where Atomic Robo won me over forever as a fan.

The real punchline: I don't even know that much about Carl Sagan.

I dunno. For my money, this arc doesn't feel like it's over (and if it truly is, then I'll be disappointed). There's more where Andy's concerned, and I think it'll play out fairly soon. Just my opinion though.

Wow, lotta hate for one side or the other. I personally think the story's gotten a lot better since it started, and would say the fallout from Cyclops's killing of Charles will contain some great story possibilities for him. He was made into a crazy person for this story, and I think we'll see some major opportunities for his character to show that this wasn't all for naught.

This film was pure awesome.

I'll be surprised if another comic book movie can top it, but it's not like it'll be anything but a win if that happens!

To be truthful, I'm not sure.

This is fairly early in the re-numbering of Uncanny X-Men, but I haven't read the previous storylines, Schism and Regenesis. I'm sure they'll get their own trades, so it's probably not a bad idea, but I can't claim you'll be any more informed about or introduced to the characters than at most any other point. I'm still learning things about Danger and Illyana, for example.

Also, my understanding is that they decided rather arbitrarily to re-number Uncanny, which hasn't sat well with a number of X-Men fans. That suggests to me that the narrative is relatively uninterrupted, so again, you'll effectively be coming in midstream.

My advice: dive on in, give this title a try for a few issues, and see if you like it. Google and Wikipedia (and ComicVine!) have proven invaluable for researching the various characters, and you can always ask a veteran reader if you want. Hope this helps!

Don't mean to be nitpicky, but I see that Dick Grayson is tagged on this page. Isn't the Robin in Arkham City supposed to be Tim Drake?

It's remarkable how similar our reviews tend to be, when we cover the same titles (and I promise, I almost always write my own reviews before I go looking at anyone else's!).

While I fall on the side of recommending the issue, I do so just barely. It mostly suffers from overexposure; there's not much in there that hasn't already been promoted. And yeah, JRJR, his artwork just doesn't work here for me, either.

Has anyone seen this? I was kind of floored when I read about it. Do you think the CV will report on this story?

Oh, that's good to know. It certainly won't hurt the odds of me purchasing subsequent issues!
