I don't know how you can beat Bats/Spidey. I think those two would work together/compliment each other very well. Two genius rooftop-runner vigilantes, one with an impressive array of tech and the other with mild super strength and a danger sense. KO
Don't hate me- I kinda agree with the OP. Not that Superman doesn't have foes that make an interesting fight, he's got LOTS of those. But for those foes to make the fight interesting, they have to be on his level. When they're on his level, they quickly become completely out of anyone else's level. Then you've gotta power boost everyone else so they can make a dent on Darkseid, Mongul, Doomsday, et al. Classic escalation. I'm saying that because of Supes, too many DC characters are just too strong. Don't get me wrong, I'll read an S-man book, watch a show or movie of his, or play a game with the guy. He's the first superhero, for crying out loud. I just think DC has let their characters power levels get waaaayyyyy too high, and it all started with him. If I were writing for DC, which I'm obviously not, I'd bring everybody at the top down. Supes would still be top dog, but maybe not so untouchable.
We're moving our two year old to a new bedroom, and we're decorating it in old-school Marvel. We've got a few old comics framed on one wall, some floating shelves with figures on another, and a third wall will have some classic quotes painted in subway art style. (Do a google image search if you aren't familiar. Basically different fonts and sizes arranged to fit together.)
I've come up with a list of lines, but I'd like a few more that aren't battle cries, too many exclamation points. Here's what I've got:
With great power comes great responsibility
HULK SMASH!
Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor
Flame on!
Avengers assemble!
It's clobberin' time!
I also thought about 'Sweet Christmas!' and 'Oh my stars and garters'. Maybe 'Face it tiger, you just hit the jackpot'. Any other often repeated or classic lines that aren't battle cries?
*EDIT* 6/29
So, I've finished the painting of quotes, as well as most of the rest of the room.
Pictures!
He's got a blanket and pillow made by grandma coming for his bed. The pillow is Cap's shield. I'll probably swap out the figures for different ones, as well. I'll share some more pics when it's 100%.
