Kangs Private Stash 13

Jason Aaron's Hulk, The Indestructible Hulk and Original Sins: Hulk VS Iron Man......Jeez, it feels like I've been waiting a long time for this particular moment, but looks like were finally here. Now, right from the start when Duggan teased us with his plans, I was a little worried, albite excited. We were essentially dousing into a very tricky territory. There have been a lot of Hulks, so creating a new one might seem very hard at this point, because in some way you need to make the version b...

What Is Love? 5

Baby don't hurt me, no more! *cough* Sorry...Anyways..You know, thinking about Avengers:Eternal Warfare, I feel even more disappointed that Ellis didn't really give it any real effort, because after reading this, I know exactly what he is capable of, or better yet I don't know of how much he is capable of. Anyways, this is the conclusion to a very short yet brilliant run by warren Ellis. Before going further and talking about the issue itself, I'd like to mention the only possible thing I was ...

Trade one problem for another 5

I'm really glad that we're getting back on track with some of the marvel characters, and while this issue may not be perfect, it's definitely a fun ride. Marvel loves to cash in a lot these days which makes me happy that hulk, aside from the Original sin crapfest, is safe for the most part.Anyways, the primary strength of this issue is probably the action here, it's been a long time since Hulk has been a part of some really cool fight sequences and I'm really happy that they brought in Hulks lon...

When They See Me Coming 4

After reading this, I kind of feel really f*cking bad for being so harsh on the previous issue; I kind of thought that this was leading up to something(maybe it still is, I mean, who am I to question Ellis?), but I guess believing that kind of restricted me for appreciating the beauty and fun of what Ellis was trying to do. He obviously didn't plan on staying so he's probably setting a new level for the further writers as well as having fun along the way through wonderful characterization and pu...

The Nostalgia is strong with this one 9

At long last, we've been asking for a second Hulk on going, and it has finally arrived! With the recent disappointing Hulk issues stacking up, it's about time we got something cool, and savage Hulk comes through with a strong opening. Hell at this point I don't even want a award winning mind blowing story, I just want a fun series where we get to see Hulk wreck stuff, and luckily, Savage hulk seems to be aiming at exactly just that. *Spoilers below*For thous who don't know, this arc is set in t...

Well Written, But as Feared, It Does A lot of damage 13

I've been skeptical about this from the very beginning. I don't mind untold stories, but messing with a characters origin is just asking for trouble and it's something that should never be done. It's just one of thous things that shouldn't be tampered with because in many, if not most cases, it takes a huge chuck of the importance this event posses and changes the whole idea behind it. This particular issue, or event, unfortunately, is no different. This review, will most definitely contain spoi...

Fitting Conclusion to a Great Story 0

I'll be honest, I'm sure anyone who's been following this particular arc would have known by now that this conclusion would have been great. Hold on, no, scratch that, anyone who has read the previous issue would have been able to predicted the awesome conclusion, because it basically left off in a place where making a mistake was basically hard, either ways, something epic should have come from it, and it definitely deliver.Right off the bat I'd like to mention how great it is when a writer has...

Rating System, huh? 0

Sometimes I really get confused at how some writers manage to pull certain concepts off with certain characters, because at first glance the two notions in question probably seem very far apart from one another. What I mean is that She Hulk is a really powerful character (unsurprisingly), and with her we're kind of accustomed to some wacky adventures where she kicks a lot of ass and acts witty and funny for most of the time, but here, while this atmosphere is definitely present, Charles soule ma...

The ending Matches the quality of the series 7

I wasn't really expecting this series to end on a really high note, and I guess I predicted correctly, because this isn't a good ending, it's just a fitting one, and you'll see why. First things first, the events of the previous issue left me and some of the other fans quarreling or better yet debating on a certain subject. It seemed that during the fight Hulk was weakened, but the reasons for this was definitely unclear, I assumed that it was because that Hulk was specifically poisoned by a spe...

Trippy 7

I know this score is a bit unexpected, but as much as I enjoy Ellis' Moon Knight and as sad as I am that he is leaving soon, there are some glaring issues I simply cannot ignore. but before I get to the dirty parts, I want to mention that one of the best things about this series is that Ellis basically helped Moon Knight stand on his feat, because last times fans saw him he wasn't in a good state, considering that he was dragged through the mud. Moreover, I really have to thank ellis for addin...

"Never Surrender"... Heh, My motto since the new series launched 8

After I was increasingly disheartened by the last issue, I guess I kinda did lose hope for this series, not to mention that I honestly expect better of Waid, but essentially, most of the problems I've had with the previews issues have somewhat been rectified here, but some still remain and annoy me to an extent. Either ways, with Gerry Duggan taking over after issue 5, i really hope that waid manages to conclude on a somewhat higher note than what i'm expecting. I'll could say that I was given ...

This event seems to be doomed 20

You know, when I first heard about the announcement of Superman: Doomed, I still managed to delude myself into thinking that there would be something redeemable about the series. Sure I was skeptical, but having Greg Pak on board, who has written an amazing superman even in the short time period he was given, actually gave me a bit of hope that the series had something do it other than the idea that OH GOLLY, DOOMSDAY CAN'T BE STOPPED! so I gave it a chance. And let me make it clear, I regret th...

Good But...Not Great 6

All new X-factor is probably one of my favorite series out right now, and no, it's not because I adore Peter David( maybe a bit), it's because it has amazingly well written characters and a really well thought-out story with some sprinkled hints here and there, not to mention some great yet subtle humor! Which can be rare in comics, because most of the time it's your basic wacky- ridiculous- over-the-top-fun-stuff which will either make you cringe or uncomfortable.( Don't worry, I'm obviously no...

"I Hate Ghosts" 7

Moon Knight has been one of the few series I've eagerly been looking forward too, because, aside from being well written and drawn, it's a flat out fascinating series, right down to the core. There are events and elements Warren uses here which really makes me question what i've read. I've even gone back to a single issue multiple times in order to scan certain details in the writing as well as the art in order to decipher some details I might have missed, and I'm sure i'm not really done scann...

All The Fists, But No Heart. 15

I think I might as well cut to the damn chase, despite my enthusiasm and hope that this series will really pick up and force me to click the fifth star, it continuous to be a mixed bag. Now I don't pretend that this is a bad issue, nor will I allow a few bad things to completely ruin my enjoyment of the issue, but some of the events that take place here really left a bad taste in my mouth, honestly, it's to early to really judge but essentially I think they could have been executed in a much bet...

A Well Crafted Story 10

Before going in to this, I'd like to say that Frankenstein is not only one of my favorite books, but also one of my favorite characters in fiction as well. While today the book can barely invoke a shred of fear within men, in it's day the Frankensteins monster was regarded as one of the scariest being in all of fiction, which is understandable considering that concepts such as creating life or giant zombie-like monsters weren't common, whereas today you see these types of things in cartoons for ...

We are the Heroes of our Own stories 14

If you've been following me around, it won't surprise you that I've been very disappointed with the way Indestructible Hulk had been concluded. Sure it did deliver some good aspects, but as a whole it just didn't work out. Part of the charm was really lost after the Agent of time arc, which is sad really because while not the best Hulk run in years, it was definitely a refreshing way of looking at certain things. With Indestructible Hulk ending comes another hulk title also written by Waid and ...

One of Marvels Finest Films 15

It's not a secret that I have been on I'll terms with marvels most recent movies, not so much as for their stories and performances, but more for the fact that they absolutely refused to take certain things seriously, which kind of severed my connection with the movie, because I honestly just didn't care for what happened to anyone, because essentially I know that it didn't matter, no one going to die or anything like that. The Winter Soldier doesn't do that, considering that the movie feels li...

The Real Question is, who are we? 2

While last issue was slightly weak for a beginning ( Which is understandable, considering that Robbie is stepping into the shoes of an old character), the second issue gives us a more in-depth you on the current situation in Robbies life, as well as some breath taking visuals. Felipe Smith and Tradd Moore have really managed to intensify my interest in this title, and I'm sure I'll be sticking around for a long time. The last issue in contrast to this one, felt really short, even though it did g...

Guns are Power 3

From last brilliantly executed installment, we move on to the second issue of MOON KNIGHT Written By Warren Ellis. As I mentioned before, Moon Knight is an entirely new character to me and Ellis really nailed it last time by not only grabbing my interesting, but also collaborating with Shavley to such an extent that I was left craving for more. Point of the Matter is that we were introduced with some pretty interesting physiological aspects of Marc, and due to the fact that this is a concept I ...

Engine 0

Despite the understandable reluctance of some fans, mostly Ghost Rider fans, I couldn't really help myself from getting excited for this title. What can I say? A flaming skull driving something powered by hell fire kinda screams COOL in my book, as ironic as it sounds. And it's easier for me to get invested into the character since i've never been attached to any other ghost rider prior to this one. I do admit that a motorcycle is cooler than a car, but considering that that gimmick is taken b...

epiphany 8

Well now that we've come to a close end to the indestructible series, I suppose it's only natural for me to review the whole series along with the final issue as well. But before I go into to detail I would like to mention that I don't believe that this run was either lackluster or dull, not even a little, in some aspects it really succeeded and I got a kick out of reading it, though it still failed in other categories, but I'll get to that later on. Now initially, Mark waid, being the interes...

For Earth! 1

Despite having a few minor bumps along the lines the passion Jason Aaron has for thor is absolutely ridiculous. Even the premise of the story screams epic! out loud, but like everything else all it takes is one wrong term and everything can easily be ruined, which by the way isn't the case here, in fact it's quite the opposite. Hell, if we were to forget the whole starting ground of the arc I'm pretty sure i'd still enjoy the story very very much, simply because Jason Aaron really puts a lot of...

Again?! 9

Ok, I'm getting tired of this, every time I feel as if the series has some shred of hope left for improvement it just falls slat on my face. Last weeks arc was pretty cool, it was fun, adventurous, funny, and the characters were for the most part well written, especially red hulk, which made me especially happy considering that he's one of my favorite characters. I can't really stand on a common ground with this series, Charles soule is a great writer in general but man can he screw up some time...

It's simple 4

I've been interested in what this ending had to offer considering that the previous issues were a bit all over the place and a bit hard to follow. As an ending I was hoping to see something interesting and new, and to some degree i did get what I want, but still the series did have some problems. In terms of the story and art I'm a bit divided because there were some things I really liked and then there were some aspects that I just couldn't really get over. First of all, I really enjoyed the fac...

This.is.athens! 4

It's been a long time since I've had time to actually enjoy a movie as much as I enjoyed the second installment of the movie 300. A lot of trailers have gotten my hopes up and upon seeing the film my expectations have been absolutely shattered. A good example of this would be Thor: The Dark World and 47 Ronin. Both of these movies had awesome trailers which gave off the wrong message, considering that Thor was advertising itself as a serious movie when in reality it was just a compilation of com...

Look Into My Eyes 3

The problem with newly launched series, especially with characters like the She Hulk, it that it's kinda hard to find exactly in what direction you want to go in, and it's usually hard to find the voice of the character. For instance It took Soule about 6 issues to finally get Thunderbolts right( Was close to right at least), of course the task was harder there because thunderbolts was a complete mess when Charles came to the title so arranging it was vastly tougher. Anyways, I'm going off trac...

Not insane, just damaged! 1

When I first heard the Moon Knight announcement, I honestly didn't really care, not because that Moon Knight is a bad character or anything, but mainly because I haven't really been interested in him. I will admit that the creative team did raise my interest in the title but at the end of the day It was still either a hit or miss option for me, because as good as Ellis can be at times he can really make a sudden bad turn. A prime example of this would be the Avengers Endless Wartime graphic nov...

Change 0

When the previews were released there was negative feedback about a comment superman makes, and honestly, I can kinda understand where they are coming from, because there are certain characters who's morals you can mess with, superman isn't one of them unfortunately. Still, DC is trying very hard to make superman an aggressive blowhard instead of a inspirational figure, because for some god awful reason they thing that this way they will increase his popularity, which is pretty much redundant a...

Gods and CEO's 2

When you're reading a story about thor...No wait, scratch that, when you are reading a story about a certain powerhouse, most of the time you'd expect him to fight giant, monstrous threats who can easily ravage cities. But giving them a more real world opponent is a bit tougher than it sounds, and it's not the same as providing a very intelligent villain either, which basically enforces the Brain vs brawn concept. Luckily, Jason Aaron has found a good way to give thor an interesting villain who ...

Suspense! 0

You know it's amazing how often I hear people complain about how this show is boring and doesn't really have enough action. But people seem to forget that this show isn't a Zombie Slaughter fest, it's a series about survival and character development, which I find to be very intriguing and entertaining. If you want to see people butcher monsters, there are other shows/movies that'll satisfy that need. Moving on, while I agree that the show can take become really slow at times, I think the pay of...

Finally! 2

After sitting through 19 sh*t issues, it looks like this new series will be improving for the better. I've been complaining none stop about this title from the very moment it launched. I basically hated everything Danial way had done to these characters, especially the Leader, he turned him into a sniveling pathetic coward and it was gut wrenching. Then Charles Soule came to the show and while his first arc was pretty weak in my opinion, he still managed to set things up for the second, much sup...

Bomb Babies? 8

Since indestructible is nearing it's end, and considering that we're going to see a new series start from april, I though that the quality would have dropped from this point. It's sad to say that in some aspects it has, luckily, writing is not included. It's funny actually, that the last issue promised action between Iron man, beast and Hulk and it did not deliver, whereas this issue, even though it was supposed to be a problem Hulk couldn't really smash, there was a lot of good action scenes...

Enter Dr.Mindbubble 0

It's probably no secret that i have been kind of on the fence with this series, due to the fact that Remender simply goes off on his usual spree of doing of whatever he considers right and cool. Besides, I was even more worried about this supposed new villain called the mindbubble, I mean, his gimmick seemed beyond ridiculous and stupid. These types of character aspects are usually kept isolated to the Batverse, and there it makes sense since most of his villains are bloody nutjobs. But I have ...

Step Aside Daredevil, there is a new lawyer in town. 1

As much As I love Hulk, I've never really been compelled to pick up a she Hulk series. Sure, I've seen her in team centered titles as well as in other forms of media, but I've never really felt I was interested in her, I respected and knew her character through the Hulk which I guess is enough on it's own but aside from that nothing. I thought about picking her previous series up but I decided not to in light of Dan Slotts( the writer of the previous she hulk ongoing) current activities. So whe...

Three reviews with five star ratings, how does one really manage that? Honestly, This is probably one of my favorite newly launched marvel titles. While the comic might be uneventful action wise, it still has a lot of content story wise, which is fine with me, because good action in all reality needs good development.Peter David's main key factor to success has always been two main things: Dialogue and characterization. Even when the story is simply flowing towards a general direction these two...

THIS is superman, THE Superman 4

You know, there are certain characters Greg Pak can really click with, and when he does his writing instantly becomes top notch. While Superman/Batman is basically a cinematic treatment of two characters fighting very powerful foes and lacks in writing substance, here we get a taste of what superman truly represents, a noble, kind-hearted protector, and I'm glad that Pak has embraced these concepts completely. I think it's logical to start with supermans characterization because most of his tit...

Roy "Rage" Harper 0

Arrow might be a good show from a long term perspective, but that doesn't change the fact that some episodes are extremity mediocre and poorly done, and this weeks installment would be a good example of that. What's absolutely baffling for me is the fact that most of the mediocre episodes really have good premises, it's just that the execution and decisions made to finally make it are sometimes rushed and in all honesty dumb. I'm sure by now most of you are familiar with the premise, but still l...
