these are the criteria which makes a writer good:
There is No specific order except the first two
There are many writers out there, but to be completely honest, i don't think any of them are equal to peter david. To put ti simply, peter david was by all means a Genius. For 5 to 10 issues many writers can start fresh, but then decline in quality, but thats not the case with peter david. He, somehow, manages to kee fresh stories with characters over HUGE periods of time. his hulk is a prime example of this. Peter david Wrote the series the incredible Hulk For 10-12 years, and though at the end of the series it was getting a bit silly, peter david kept it fresh and excellent for a very very long time. You just could not physically get bored with his stuff. When the grey hulk had been around for a long time, we got something different that felt natural and organic, which we lack in current writing. His Dialog's were lengthy and interesting, which showed how well he new human interaction. And he manages to Write any character given to him: hulk, spider-man, aquaman, X-factor are prime examples of this. To say it simply, peter david rocks.
Peter David can only be overshadowed by someone like greg pak. Unlike peter david, his writing is simple, easy to follow, but also very brilliant. Greg pak's stuff has always made me smile and i love his work, he is a great guy and someone who appreciates other characters. and yes, you hear me, he does. Though he might be a hulk fanboy ( i myself am one), he still managed to provide awesome stories for the jade giant without having to embarrass other characters( pay close attention to how things play out in WWH, and you'll see what i mean). His work on the jade jaws was amazing and had evolved him as a character in so many ways. his incredible hercules was also very awesome, because greg pak has great knowledge of Greek mythology and he managed to incorporate it into the comics. Greg pak is awesome.
Mark Waid is a great and awesome writer. He not only stays true to the characters, but manages to find New elements he can work with. His Kingdom come is one of the mist acclaimed DC comics out there, his indestructible hulk is amazing despite the fact that it's only been 4 issue, his daredevil rocks, and he has done so much more things in his career.
A truly Talented Writer , it breaks my heart that he had to suffer the fate he did. His stories were light-hearted and tragic, with great characters and stories. he is one of my favorite hulk authors, and i am sure he is great with others as well.
Yost is a great write in my opinion, He stays true to the characters, and gives great and creative stories, which are surrounded by tragedies. He created one of my favorite characters known as x-23, and he is current;y writing one of my favorite series called scarlet spider.
A very talented writer. I have not found a single thing i dislike about his writing. His avengers academy was one of my all time favorite series, the interaction Benet the characters was superb, as well as the stories, actions scenes and etc. Even now , his superior special was awesome, and i dislike superior very much.
Jeff Parker is one of thous writer who write complex and thorough stories. when Jeph Loeb Left red hulk, i was very happy, and when jeff came along, i hadn't really heard much about him. So i decided to give him a chance. Jeff Parker took Jeph horrible creation known as the red hulk, who was basically a behemoth who punched things, and turned him into an interesting character, by exploring ross's history. In short, this guy is very talented.
HE may not be popular enough in the comicverse to get his own series , but so far i have loved what i have read from him. He was gregs partner in incredible Hercules, which was, i say again, awesome. He has written spider-man and gave him some seriously awesome stories, and he made an amazing Hulk:Season One!
You know, i haven't read that much from this guy, but holy F*cking hell! i can't believe how awesome this guy is! his batman was one of the best things i've read in a long time, and his superman? holy hell it's amazing. Gran Morrison is a very capable and imaginative writer who deserves respect.
His Venom IS one of my favorite current series in marvel. He is a talented guy, though sometimes he isn't as good as he could be, but...even at his worst he is still cool.
i like RK for a simple reason, he took and old concept, that being the whole 'Zombie outbreak" thing, and made it unique, and no, i don't mean the fact that they call zombies walkers or biters, i mean the fact that he managed to create awesome characters, but still made it feel that they are always in danger. Usually in Zombie stories, the main characters always survive, but not here, in fact, once you begin to love a character. BOOM! he's gone. but the biggest change Robert applied was that Zombies aren't the real monsters, humans are, which is, quite frankly, beautiful. Also, i am a big fan of his Image work, for what i've read, i have really enjoyed his writing , especially his team up with Todd M. on the Haunt.
