Ares could make a great anti-hero if he were to come back. And if we had the right writer, like Jeff Parker (for example), to write the series.

yeah, but the problem is that no one is bringing him back, and he was watered down.

@TheAcidSkull: And Brian Bendis is to blame for that! I actually liked Ares in Incredible Herc, where he was badass and violent, not to mention capable of matching his half-brother in a physical fight. That is the Ares that needs to come back! Agreed? :)

It's sad how Iron Man can be awesome in every other form of media save for comics (the source material). And I personally disagree with Miles and Punisher but hey, opinions.

agree about Iron Man

AHHHH, SOME OF THESE CHARACTER I LOVE!

HOPE SUMMERS? She is awesome. She is just a young kid, but a bada$$ warrior trained by Cable. Her powers are awesome too. What is there not to like? She is a rebel without a cause, literally.

PUNISHER!!! AS A FORMER MARINE MYSELF, I HAVE TO LIKE PUNISHER, WHO WAS ALSO A MARINE. Punisher just doesn't kill for fun. He is like batman, a street hero, but instead of letting the cops get bogged down with paperwork, he kills the perps, if he can. His purpose is Justice, like Daredevil, but more extreme. His whole family was killed in front of his face! You don't think you may snap a little after that and go on a revenge spree?

Luke Cage? eh, take it or leave it. I don't really much care either way, but I don't hate on him.

NAMOR! NOW THIS IS A PROBLEM. THE FIRST MUTANT? THE PRINCE OF ATLANTIS! HE IS NOT A DOUCHE, HE IS COCKY AS HELL, AND SHOULD BE. HE IS BADA$$. HE EATS AQUAMAN FOR LUNCH AND DEFICATES OUT HIS LITTLE ORANGE CHAINMAIL THAT EVENING.

I can go with you on the rest. I didn't "YES" your list but I also didn't "NO" your list either. stalemate.

I can understand that. Some characters just get on my nerves as well. Wolverine is one of them. I know EVERYONE (said with a long drawn out eeeevvvveeerrryyyoooonnnee) just llluuuuuuuves freakin Wolverine but he just gets on my nerves. He is 5'3" inches tall! he is a little baby man with little knives. sure he heals up real good and has a good "nose" for things, but to me he is just a mindless thug. IDK, I don't "Hate" him, but, it is what it is with him. There are better and more dynamic and interesting characters out there for me than Wolverine. The masses can have him.

Wolverine isn't mindless. If that's what you think, you obviously know nothing about him, or have read any of his stories. Have you read any Wolverine stories or even understood what the character is about before you came to your sophisticated decision about him being "mindless".

@wolverine08: hey, no offense. My favorite character is Cyclops, yours is obviously Wolverine. I am not saying he is not awesome. he is just not as complex as everyone makes him out to be. I can understand why people and you like him. He is cool, Ill give him that, he is just not for me. But I do pull Wolverine and the X-Men every week, for the supporting cast.

Wolverine isn't just cool, he is complex. I shall explain. Wolverine represents two things.

1. Never giving up. Throughout his life, Wolverine has had all of women he has loved killed in front of him, had his memory wiped, and been tortured through elicit government experiments that brainwashed him into an animal. He also struggles to keep his animal like instincts under control. Even through all this, Wolverine has never given up and decided to become evil like a life like his would tempt most people. Wolverine also represents not giving up in the way he fight's. No matter how much bigger or stronger you are than Wolverine, hell never give up in a fight until you put him down.

2. Wolverine represents redemption and becoming a better person. Even though Logan is at heart a good person, he has done many morally questionable things throughout his life because of being confused about who he was, and if he could truly be good, and ran with clandestine military blacks ops teams that did bad things. Wolverine is haunted by all these things, and is always trying to make up for past deeds. This is why he is so connected to the concept of samurai. He sees how samurai preserve through all things, and always act like honorable men, and that's what keeps Wolverine going. The idea that one day he can be that truly honorable samurai he longs to be. IGN said it best when they said that "Wolverine is a failed samurai that is trying to atone for his many sins knowing full well that he can't". Now mind you, Wolverine occasionally messes up, and does questionable things, but he never let's that deter him from his goal of being an honorable man.

There is complexity behind all that coolness.

@wolverine08: Hey, I am VERY familiar with Wolverine. Very. It is like this. Chocolate or Vanilla ice cream. I just prefer the vanilla. Ill eat the chocolate if that is all there is, but it is not my favorite. Hope that makes sense. You did an amazing job on you (1) and (2) though. I think Wolvie is just too popular and to over hyped. I do like him immensely in the X-Men movie franchise though.

Namor is the superman of the marvel universe who gets unnecessary hate. Just like superman does.
