Because they answer fanmail asking you to do it their way.

Because it involves an actual mention of existing science to add explanation to comic physical reality, while getting away with anything which would generate more fanmail.

Because it puts your fave heroes into your fave hero settings you otherwise wouldn't get to read, including this one.

Because it's cool.

Because it can answer the question what it would be like if YOU became ... Spider-Man...

Someone should tell your funny little asian friend that that doesn't work so well in our universe, but it won't be us.

They're coming for you,  @Dracade102. That's what happens when they all answer the same 911. We trust they'll each have signals as different as they are.

"    Quinton Tarantino for the directing job of Captain America? Have you gone insane? Oh yeah, I could just see Cap using his shield to slice off Natzi heads left and right. Pools of blood forming and causing the Red Skull to lose his balance and stab himself with a bayonet. Riiight. : p    Perhaps you meant Oliver Stone? I could see Oliver Stone delivering powerful epic-like war scenes that would blow away tons of audiences and would even attract the older generations to turn off CBS and get down to the local theater! "

He can pretty well direct in any style he wants, as could Oliver Stone. Either would do.

@The Sharp Dressed Lady: I think I read in an interview with Tarantino a few years back where his said he wouldn't do a comic book movie.  Something about the fans being too harsh and not having very much creative control or ability to interperet the movie in his own way.  Something like that. "

Ya , they all say that, until you ask them really nice.

Great. Another commendable reason to buy an iPad, and in favor of the existence of mobile touchpads.

You might want to wait for the one with the cams and iChat telephony.

But, if you can't wait, go buy one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8D

@RATZGobbler: Joe Johnston would be a highly respectable choice for a Captain America director. However...

Kinka Usher is still a milestone director, still going strong. Bring him back to the movies, because you know he can.

And, If they could attract Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez, I could certainly be up to looking at what they'd have to offer.

I could even throw in George Lucas.

If you buy this crap about it coming across a Thor comic, most likely it did it on wikipedia.

So far, Iron Man 2 is looking like the winner.

And THAT, @Beyond your Doom, is why we love you. Thank you for that. That is also one of the most awe-inflicting depictions of a comic character in comic adaptation history.

Most of Black Widows backstory was developed much later. Originally, she was an enemy operative and did not wear the catsuit that has since become a staple. Her first costumes were the femme fatale haute couture little black dress or evening gown, suggestive of The Black Canary and The Blonde Phantom, and another, more reminiscent of The Black Canary, with mask and fishnets.

Largely, too, she exists in The MU because Marvel needed a Black Canary, and a femme fatale. Black Widow was a counter to Black Canary of The DCU.

And, technically speaking, to be wholly honest, Black Canary can kick Black Widows ass around the equator a few times before breakfast.

Black Canary is in a whole other ballpark.
