CV's Top 100 Spider-man Universe Stories List

Since his first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15 fifty plus years ago, Spider-Man and his legion of related characters including Gwen Stacy, Aunt May, Uncle Ben, Mary Jane, J. Jonah Jameson, Kraven the Hunter, Doctor Octopus, Venom, Norman Osborn and so many more have become apart of our pop culture so that is why we have dedicated a top 100 list to the stories of the Amazing, Spectacular, Astonishing, Ultimate, and everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-man!

Thank You's!

Like with the past top 100 lists, I would like to thank all of the nominators who participated in this list espeshelly since this was one our longest running list. In addition, I would like to thank @kfhrfdu_89_76k for his help in getting participants (and other stuff that would take forever to list), @razzatazz for her support, @etragedy for his help tie breaking (and also so much more) and of course all the community for their patience.

Final Words

This was an exhausting list, but a fun list never the less. I hope you find it as interesting as I did and that someone finds this list useful. Not sure what the next list will be, but it will be interesting I'm sure...

I approve of this list :D

@etragedy: I personally would have waited to make such a list of reviews because now you have to fix your numbers. wait till I'm done or your numbers will be different from the actual list. Just my friendly suggestion :)

@the_poet: I wanted to be at the top of the comments, once Pyrogram posted, I had to get a placeholder in - I'll update the numbers as things change - thanks :)

The synopsis for #8 & #9 are the same.

Posted by Lvenger

Nice work to everyone involved, glad to be a part of the process!

78 and 85 aren`t the corrects items. 21 has 22:s synopsis. Otherwise...GREAT.

As always, not all of these should be here, the number one is the story that in my opinion, shouldn`t be that high up* (though it is a really good one)...but still, pretty awesome. I do hope that more voters woulda participated, but I guess that enough of them did.

Great work everybody. Also, you`re welcome (The) Poet.

*I wonder if there is or ever will be a Spidey-story so great that it deserves the number one spot, in my mind.

I'm surprised The Other isn't higher also is Spider-Men really that good? Hmmm I may have to buy it.

Number 9 says the daily planet?

Awesome list!

It's amazing that even though the Clone Saga was utterly reviled when it was first published, it somehow manages to make no. 23 on this list. For a while, you couldn't get through a copy of Wizard Magazine without running into a Clone Saga joke.

How times and tastes have changed.

@kfhrfdu_89_76k: Just got a chance to check out the ones you mentioned were wrong.

fixed 78 (my mistake) and number 9 (someone else's mistake which had them crossing over to the DC universe for some reason).

85 is correct because it is a placeholder. There is no item for that. it doesn't qualify to be a story arc (wouldn't have a name), so we have a series placeholder just like Spider-man 2099.

I'm not sure about the 21 having 22's synopis. I mean it's talking about rhino who is in the story arc The Gauntlet.

@the_poet:

I meant that Spider-island has the synopsis of The Gauntlet.

I'd Say maximum carnage is the best, but nice choices. :D

Posted by The Poet

@paperdemon: thanks, though I can't really take the credit for the choices (If I chose the stories we wouldn't have a list

Good list, some really enjoyable choices throughout. Torment, though?!?!

Posted by tupiaz

@the_poet: Do you have plans for any more list in the future?

Maximum Carnage is way to high on the list and torment way to low. Also the argument that a OMD is on the list seems hilarious so because something is causing a debate it is worthy getting on the list of the best stories. I would have thought that stories like Hooky, the story with Peters parents and the Chameleon (what is that story even called?) and Identity crises would make the list.
