I think the X-Men right now are enjoying some of the best stories in recent memory. I don't remember the last time so many X-books were actually good at the same time. Right now I'd say the following books are all good:
Uncanny X-Men
X-Men
Astonishing X-Men
New X-Men
X-Factor
It's sad to say that out of all the mutant books, Chris Claremont is probably writing the worst of them (New Excalibur and Exiles). He'll always be remembered for the classic X-Men stories he's told over the years, but he just hasn't evolved as a writer. Nothing he's putting out right now will ever be remembered as classic.
I'm actually enjoying both a great deal. Bendis is doing a good job in making these two books very different... just wish New Avengers would get another artist.
"Yeah, Punisher wouldn't be so heartless as to gun down a kid, even if the kid is trying to put him in jail for being an alcoholic dumbass. But, yeah, Robin wins. Bo staff, rugurgitant gasses, Ninja training and steel toe boots all combine to mess up Frank Castle's face. I mean, really, Punisher drinks himself into a crying slumbor for years to come after this defeat. I mean, it must be really embarassing to get viciously beaten by someone's sidekick, especially if other people paint you up to be somebody special..."
Frank Castle isn't an alcaholic... the only two places that's ever been shown is in the movie, and the Year One story... and he was drinking because his family just got slaughtered. That was quickly put aside and hasn't been used in the comic books for a good 20 years now. My opinion is obviously biased, but I just think that someone that could mess up the combined forces of Daredevil, Wolverine and Spider-Man and also could hold his own against Batman, would have a fighting chance against his sidekick. Most people who don't read Punisher think he's just a gun toating lunatic with no comon sense. Right he wouldn't try to kill Robin if he doesn't think he's a criminal.
Well concidering that Punisher isn't "just about guns" and he's more of a tactician then most people think. He was able to take out the combined forces of Daredevil, Wolverine and Spider-Man in one story arc... if he can do that he should be able to take out Robin.
Although... you ARE comparing someone who is more concidered a vigilante to a definitive Superheroe. While Robin would try to disarm Punisher and subdue him, Punisher would try to trick him into lowering his guard so he could get a kill shot... be it with a gun, knife or his barehands. Punisher will do whatever it takes to win a fight, Robin not so much.
That... and if Punisher can go toe-to-toe with Batman (Punisher Batman: Deadly Knights) then he should be able to take down Robin... maybe.
