very nice article, in depth, well-thought out. another site said it was the Crimson Cowl and there would be a DC/MARVEL cross-over, never mind that there was no collaborating evidence. kudos!
i think it would have worked if it was implicit in the trailers that he audience would need to be heavily dosed on LSD to appreciate his... whatever the hell that was supposed to be,
oh, wow. so DC puts EVERYTHING at 2.99 and Marvel decides, "yeah, we'll put five of our least interesting titles for 2.99, ones that, all things considered, will not last past 12 issues if that, and make it seem like we care about the fan's wallets." Please, if anything this makes me want to buy Marvel comics even less. If that was possible.
" Terrible art from John Romita Jr. Terrible writing from Bendis. What more could you ask for? "
THANK YOU! could not have said it better myself. this writing is of an adolescent-quality at BEST and is sub-moronic in plot and i've seen better artwork on the bottom of a 'effin birdcage. can them both! I won't read an avengers until then, if ever again.
For the entire review check out www.adamdodd.net Went to the mid-ohio comic con last weekend. Usually, I miss these things as the good ones are in Cali and NY, but this one in Columbus gave me an opportunity to eat my words. As a child my father took me to conventions so we use this as a nostalgic road trip, which was nice but this isn't "Tuesdays with Maury" so let's get back to the show. It was what I expected in that it reminded me of the better shows on the coasts but had that mid-ohio mediocrity i had come to expect from the midwest. Oodles of books, beefed up my New Mutants and Batman collections, found Millar's "Year One" for a .25 a piece.
A lot of artists which was great but besides, Finch who had a line around the corner, Matt Wagner, and Adam Hughes, many of the others were not on the same level with many being independent. Nothing against indies' we need more of them, but they don't get me excited to see at least. Billy Tan was there who has been doing some acceptable "Shadowland" work. $600 for a panel though? Kirby, Romita, Davis you are not and don't forget it.
